RICHMOND – Richmond Dragway hosted the VP Race Fuels 10 Grand Slam bracket race over the weekend and were blessed with a great turnout of nearly 250 cars. Saturday’s racing was delayed due to weather issues in the morning but racers finally hit the track later in the day as they chased the $10,000 winner’s check.
Racing was eventually halted on Saturday night with 25 cars left to run in the second round. Race officials ultimately called the race and each of the first round winners received $150 for their efforts.
Sunday brought a new day and another shot at a $10,000 payday. In the final round Al Miller collected the big win over Derrek Thompson in the main event while Danny Mattera collected the Gamblers race win over Dink Holmes.
