Carson Wheeler Leads Winners from Tulsa Triple 5’s
TULSA, Okla. – Like many of the Thanksgiving bracket races around the country, weather played a role in the schedule of the Triple 5’s bracket race at Tulsa Raceway Park last weekend. Originally scheduled as a three-day race weekend paying $5,000 each day to the Super Pro winners and $2,000 to the No Box winners, the event was shortened to a two-day event to avoid the cold weather forecasted for Sunday.
The revised format paid $7,500 to the Super Pro winners on Friday and Saturday while the No Box winners received $3,000 each day. In addition to the revised race format, the track operators also threw in High Roller races for Super Pro and No Box competitors.
Carson Wheeler capped off Day 1 with a Super Pro win while Fred Kaufman collected the No Box win. Day 2 found Robbie Winkle in the No Box winner’s circle, Jeremy Maples collected the Super Pro High Roller race win, and Bryan Walker took the High Roller race win in No Box. The Day 2 Super Pro purse was split with 5 cars remaining after the track encounter timing system issues.
