Joe Gary & GJ Crews Split Big Bucks $20K at Carolina Dragway
AIKEN, S.C. – Carolina Dragway, the House of Hook, wrapped up the 14th Annual Big Bucks Bracket Race on Sunday capping off a great weekend of big dollar bracket racing.
The event featured a $20,000 to win main event on Saturday followed by a 32 car shootout sponsored by FTI Performance. Sunday’s action included a $10,000 to win bracket race to close out the event.
In Saturday’s $20,000 main event, finalist Joe Gary (Camaro) and GJ Crews (Dragster) agreed to split the final round purse and call it a night. The trophy and oversized winner’s check were presented to retiring track announcer Mr. Dent Johnson. Johnson, the track announcer for the last 55 years, retired from announcing at the conclusion of the weekend. Gary and Crews should be commended for their selfless act and kind gesture to an icon at the House of Hook.
In the FTI Performance 32 Car Shootout, Josh Harper drove his dragster to the win for the second straight year after defeating Tyler Mosley and his S-10 in the final round.
In the final event of the weekend, Jason Wilson drove his Camaro to the $10,000 victory after stopping Holden Dial (Dragster) in the final round.
