JULIAN, N.C. – The 2018 Loose Rocker Promotions American Doorslammer Nationals wrapped up on Sunday with the Abruzzi Transmissions $10K. As the successful three-day racing weekend came to a close, racers were looking for one last shot at a huge payday.
At the quarterfinal round six racers were still in contention for the Eagle trophy and the big check. Round 7 action saw Jeff Krushinskie defeat Chris Dixon, Tommy Plott take down Boyd Sauls, and Chris Mancini defeat Steve Foley.
Courtesy of his stellar .012 reaction in the quarterfinal round, Mancini earned the bye in the semifinals leaving Krushinskie and Plott to battle for the remaining spot in the final round.
After both driver’s posted .02 reactions Krushinskie turned on the win light after posting a dead-on 6.333 to take down Plott’s .019 over 5.229.
In the final round, Krushinskie (Camaro) grabbed the lead at the tree posting a .021 to Manicini’s (Chevy II) .034 reaction. As the top end it would be Krushinskie posting his second straight dead-on 6.335 to capture the victory after Mancini broke out with a 6.325 on the 6.34 dial.
The win solidified Krushinskie as an elite racer within the Loose Rocker series as it was his third American Doorslammer Nationals victory.
