Nick Bowman Goes Deep at No-Box Classic

XENIA, Ohio – Loose Rocker Promotions put on another great event over the Labor Day weekend when they hosted the 3rd Annual Labor Day No-Box Classic at Kil-Kare Raceway.  The Loose Rocker team, Michael and Anthony, do a great job of taking care of the racers with great payouts, prizes, and cool trophies in addition to a well-managed schedule.

The event was scheduled for a $5k-$10k-$5k and two $2k Gamblers races over the three-day weekend.  Although the forecast called for great weather all weekend, a pop-up shower on Saturday evening turned into a downpour that ultimately ended racing for the weekend.

Nick Bowman was the star of the event as he made the Gambler’s final on Friday and was down to the final five in Saturday’s $10k.  Although he didn’t take home a cool Loose Rocker Eagle trophy, Bowman did win a ton of rounds over the 2-day event.

Before rain halted the event, several racers collected big wins on Friday and Saturday as the event was able to complete the Friday $5k and Gamblers race and the Saturday $10k.  See results below.

Gage Burch kicked off the event with a win the Friday’s $5k.  Burch, driving his Fox Body Mustang, defeated “Slick” Rick Baehr, in his 3rd Gen Camaro, in the final round.

Friday’s $2k Gamblers race was won by Caleb Ellison in his cool Chevy II.  Taking runner-up honors was Nick Bowman in his Duster.

Saturday’s $10k began under clear skies but was interrupted by rain with five cars remaining.  In order to complete the race and crown a winner, the five remaining competitors, Nick Bowman, Brian Baehr, Jace Deering, Joe Oswald, and Joe Barney, agreed to settle it on the practice tree.  As mentioned earlier, Bowman was making his second deep run of the event.

Brian Baehr took home the Eagle Trophy and the Big Check after defeating Jace Deering in the practice tree run-off.  Winners photos below.

After another successful Labor Day No-Box Classic, the Loose Rocker team will turn their focus to their next events, the American DoorSlammer Nationals on November 16-18 and the Fall Footbrake Frenzy on November 23-25.  Both upcoming events will be held at Piedmont Dragway in Julian, N.C.  Be sure to mark these events on your calendar.
