Big Money Spotlight: Texas Triple Tens
Racers get ready to load up your trailers because the 2019 race season is finally here and is about to be in full swing. As a member of the DragChamp team of writers I am excited to keep the DC community up to date with upcoming big money bracket racing in Division 4 as well as throughout the country.
As a racer myself I enjoy getting behind the wheel but I also like supporting the tracks and race promoters that make big money bracket racing possible. I run the South Central Drag Racing and Big Check Bracket Racing Facebook pages. I was honored and jumped at the chance to partner with DragChamp to spotlight big money bracket racing in 2019.

Though there have already been several great races in 2019, I am excited to share the Texas Triple Tens as my first Big Money Bracket Race Spotlight. The Texas Triple Tens presented by Reliable Air is a four weekend race series at the Texas Motorplex that will kick off its first event this weekend, March 15th – 17th. This is also going to be the first big money bracket race of the season in Texas, you don’t want to miss it.
“I am thankful to the Texas Motorplex for giving me this opportunity to put on this series. We’re expecting a really nice turnout with great weather and we are excited to see everyone and hope everyone can make the trip” Cody Pollage said. Pollage, the Texas Triple Tens promoter, is no stranger to putting on events as he has co-promoted races across the division. The list includes the Southern Big Buck Nationals at No Problem Raceway and the Oklahoma Summer Nationals at Ardmore Dragway. This will be his first series, as well as his first big money bracket race in Texas.
The main event will feature three $10ks in Box and three $5ks in No Box on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Parking for the Texas Triple Tens will begin Thursday morning. Racers are welcome to come at any time after the gates open at 11 am since they will be parking rigs all night. I like to highlight when you can park, because I feel like we have all seen those Facebook posts of racers that get stuck outside of the gate waiting all night because they didn’t offer all night parking.
Friday morning the gates will officially open at 9 am. A Test & Tune ($40 entry fee) will be available from 10 am to 2 pm. Following the Test & Tune there will be one time run for Friday’s race to follow at 3 pm. Make sure to check out the flyer for more details about Friday’s race.

In addition to the main event there will be a Practice Tree Race Thursday night. Racers will have a chance to relax and have a little fun before the first pair of cars head down the track on Friday morning.
In addition to the main event there will be a $10,000 to win 64-car High Roller’s shootout for Box racers and a 64-car High Roller’s No Box Shootout with the winner getting $5,000 Saturday night. If you want to get your name on the list as an alternate, contact Cody Pollage at 225-776-6818.

One thing that I like to highlight besides the purse is the different racer appreciation prizes that each event has to offer. This weekend J’s Joint out of Plaquemine, LA will be hosting the racer appreciation dinner on Saturday night for all competitors. After a long two days of racing, great food is always an added bonus.
To go along with the racer appreciation dinner this weekend, make sure you polish up your race cars really nice because E-Z Paint Custom Painting will be on site and is sponsoring the Best Appearing Award.
And if things don’t go your way on the track, Autometer will also be giving out prizes for the best losing packages for Box and No Box.
Finally, who doesn’t love a good racing event t-shirt? The Texas Triple Tens t-shirts have been designed by Accelerated Graphics and will also be available for purchase in Suite 101 when you pick up your tech cards and run stickers. Check out Accelerated Graphics for your racing t-shirt and sticker needs.
