Burrow Doubles at Texas Triple Tens | Final Results
Day Two of the Texas Triple Tens began with another day of beautiful weather full of great racing action at the Texas Motorplex. With over 200 box entries and 80 no box entries racers were looking to claim the second big check of the weekend after Blair McNutt and Johnny Ezell claimed theirs Friday night.
Texas Triple Tens Friday Results
No Box
During the quarter finals Jake Howard defeated Friday winner Blair McNutt after knocking the bottom out of the tree with a .008 reaction time. Steve Stockton traveled from Wisconsin to compete in Saturday’s Main Event. Stockton defeated local hitter Jeff Hefler in the quarter finals and secured the semifinal bye with his .005 reaction time. Austin Williams defeated Billy Talbot in the other pairing.
Howard and Williams had arguably the race of the day of the day during their semifinal match as Howard was .007 and Williams was .009 on the tree. Howard advanced to the final round after Williams went 6.388 on his 6.40 dial. With Stockton taking the bye run, the final round was set.
In a Wisconsin versus Texas final, Jake Howard took the win to claim his second Texas Triple Tens Big Check this year.

Box
In the quarter finals of Saturday’s Main Event Michael Pennington had to race his father-in-law Jay Thornburg. Thornburg turned it -.006 red advancing Pennington to the semifinals. Josh Burrow moved into the semifinals after Danny Allen was .001 on the wrong side of the Christmas tree.
Chanse Bullock got by Danny Ray Martinez and Donny Burleson was sitting on the bye as he advanced to the Semi-Finals of Saturday’s Box class.
In the semifinals, Josh Burrow edged out Chanse Bullock to face Donny Burleson in the final round after he defeated Michael Pennington. In the final Burrow claimed Saturday’s $10K Big Check after Donny Burleson turned it -.012 red.

Racer Appreciation Dinner
J’s Joint cooked over 1,000 pounds of Crawfish and all the fixings for the racers at the Texas Triple Tens Saturday night. The Texas Triple Tens Racer Appreciation Dinner was sponsored by Troy Morgan and Environmental Oil Recovery.

Day Three of the Texas Triple Tens started with one time run for new entries and then moved straight into final eliminations. Saturday night Box champion Josh Burrow and his S-10 race truck were also named the EZ Paint Best Appearing Car of the weekend.
No Box
In the semifinals of No Box, Chad Sandlin received a competition bye to the finals when Aaron Jones broke in the burnout. He went on to race Jake Howard in the final round in an epic battle.
Sandlin used a .002 and a .014 over 6.354 to take the .001 win over Howard. Howard was .015 dead 2 to come up just short of another Big Check. The win was Sandlin’s third of the season at the Texas Triple Tens.

Box
Saturday winner Josh Burrow found his way to a second straight final round after defeating Bart Nelson in the semifinals. In the final, Burrow squared off with DFW legend Don Boulware.
Burrow captured a .010 advantage at the tree and posted his second $10,000 win of the weekend when his .015 over 6.295 bettered Boulware’s .038 over 4.608. Burrow had a weekend to remember at the Texas Triple Tens with two wins and a best appearing award.
