Welcome to the DragChamp sportsman drag racing Top 10 List presented by In Motion Solutions.

8/7/19 – The DragChamp Top 10 List continues to showcase the best performances in sportsman drag racing each week. To make the list requires a dominating performance and in most cases, multiple wins in the same weekend.

1 – Kyle Rizzoli

Kyle Rizzoli wins Super Stock at Sonoma Nationals

Kyle Rizzoli had an amazing week on the NHRA Western Swing. Starting at Sonoma Raceway, Kyle drove his ’69 Camaro to the Super Stock win at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals.

Seven days later, Kyle found himself in two finals at the NHRA Northwest Nationals. He would go on to lose the Stock Eliminator final to Andy Morris but he came back moments later to capture his second straight Super Stock victory.

Three NHRA national event finals with two wins in seven days is more than enough to grab the top spot on the Top 10 list!

2 – Matt Kielman

Matt Kielman wins Super Street at Northwest Nationals

Over the last five weeks, Matt Kielman has won three NHRA Wally’s. His most recent win came on the big stage at the NHRA Northwest Nationals. There Kielman claimed his first national event win in Super Street.

Prior to his national event win, Kielman picked up Wally’s with wins at Portland and at the Woodburn Lucas Oil Series event. He even added a win at Bremerton Raceway for good measure.

3 – Jamie Tuper

You win $50,000 and you’re on the list and that’s exactly what Jamie Tuper did at the Todd’s Extreme Paint World Super Pro Challenge at Mid Michigan Motorplex.

Tuper became the 26th different winner of the $50,000 main event keeping the streak alive of no repeat winners.

4 – Chad Axford

Last week’s #3 racer is back on the list again after another winning weekend. We mentioned last week that Chad and his wheel-standing Nova had won over 50+ rounds and made five final rounds in a 10-day period.

Well, he added to those numbers last weekend with a runner up on Friday at Clarksville and a win on Sunday at London Dragway.

5 – Jeff Strickland

Rounding out the Top 5 is Jeff Strickland. Strick came within one win light of scoring his second NHRA double of the year.

Competing in Stock and Top Dragster at the NHRA Division 4 Lucas Oil series race at Tulsa Raceway Park, Jeff drove to the finals of both classes.

Although he would split the finals winning Top Dragster and losing in Stock, it was still and impressive outing. Earlier this season he completed the double winning both classes at the Division 2 LODRS in Atlanta.

While Mikey Bloomfield didn’t win the $50K main event at the World Super Pro Challenge, he did win just about everything else.

Mikey started the weekend with a $10K win on Thursday. This was followed by another win on Friday and a runner up on Sunday.

This was an impressive weekend especially considering the talent on hand for one of the most prestigious events in bracket racing.

7 – Devin Dudley

This young man can flat out get it done in his Footbrake Mustang. Dudley returned to the Loose Rocker Colonial Classic, an event that he swept in 2018, for another shot at glory.

And boy did he deliver. Dudley grabbed a semifinal finish on Friday before taking the $10,000 win on Saturday. He was prepared for another weekend sweep until the curfew hit on Sunday night. Dudley was still alive at six cars when the purse was split.

Look out for Dudley as he is quickly becoming one of the top Footbrake names in the sport.

8 – Jeff Serra

It seems every week Jeff finds his was to a big money win. This week was no exception as Serra cashed for $10K on Saturday at the Loose Rocker Colonial Classic. He was also still alive on Sunday when the race was called due to the track curfew.

This was the second Loose Rocker $10K Serra has won this season with the previous win coming at the Super Doorcar Challenge.

9 – Derek Malcolm

10 – Justin Wanamaker

Justin Wanamaker had a memorable weekend at the US131 Bracket Bash. Between himself and his kids juniors, the team made 75 passes on the weekend. This also included a late night transmission swap that finished around 3AM on Sunday morning.

Justin double entered his roadster in the Footbrake class to a runner up on Friday and a win on Sunday. In addition, he was doubled at six cars on Sunday.

The Wanamaker family also had a big weekend at the recently complete IHRA Summit Sportsman Spectacular at US131. Click here to read more.
