Hot August Nights Bracket Race comes to Pine Valley

Cole and Slate Cummings have teamed up to bring big money bracket racing to Pine Valley Dragway August 9-10, 2019 with the Hot August Nights.

NHRA Sportsman racing stars Cole and Slate Cummings have teamed up to bring big money bracket racing to Pine Valley Dragway. The Cummings name is synonyms with bracket racing. Whether it’s winning races across the country or promoting big dollar bracket races, the Cummings family is highly regarded in sportsman drag racing.

So when Cole and Slate team up to put on a bracket race, you know it’s going to be a must-attend event. Their latest endeavor is the Hot August Nights bracket race. The two-day bracket race will featured Super Pro, No Box, and Jr. dragster classes.

The Hot August Nights bracket race will be contested on Friday and Saturday nights. To combat the exhausting Texas heat, the Cummings duo have scheduled the race to start at 4PM each evening. There’s even a rumor floating around of an epic water gun fight scheduled for Saturday night. You’ll have to show up to find out.

Event Sponsors

EasTexas Racecraft is the title sponsor of the event and Phil’s Trailer Sales is the presenting sponsor. Sherman Racing Engines has signed on as the Super Pro class sponsor. GT Performance Plus is the No Box class sponsor while Salter Racing will sponsor the Jr. Dragster class.

Big Money Bracket Racing Texas Style

Super Pro racers will compete for $5,000 to win each day while the No Box class will compete for the $4,000 winners purse each day. Cole and Slate have guaranteed the purse so racers know what they’re racing for when they pull through the gate.

An added bonus awaits racers on Saturday night. Both main event winners will receive an Iron Man trophy in addition to the big payout.

Hot August Nights 16 Car Shootouts

In addition to the main events, the Hot August Nights bracket race will feature 16 car shootouts. The shootouts will be contested on Saturday beginning at noon. More details on the shootouts will be released in the coming weeks. Contact Cole or Slate to reserve your spot.

Junior Dragsters

Junior dragster racing will be included in the Hot August Nights bracket race. Jr. drivers will compete for a $450 winner’s prize in three age groups. The age groups are as follows: 7-9 years old, 10-12 years old, and 13-17 years old.

Entry Fees

Entry fees for the Hot August Nights race are $125 per day in Top Bulb and $100 per day in No Box. Racer’s looking to double enter will get a discount as the double entry fee is $200 per day in Top Bulb and $150 per day in No Box.

Buybacks are $50 in Top Bulb and $35 in No Box. Racers may buyback after a first or second round loss. If there are more than 140 entries, only first round buybacks will be allowed.

Hot August Nights Race Schedule

The gates will open at Pine Valley Dragway at noon on Friday. The first of two scheduled time trials will begin at 4PM with eliminations to follow. The 16 car shootouts will begin at noon on Saturday. One time trial session will begin at 4PM on Saturday with eliminations to follow. The schedule is subject to change.
