Kevin Brannon Collects $15,000 Payday at SFG Powerball of Bracket Racing
DARLINGTON – The 3rd Annual FTI Performance Powerball of Bracket Racing raced into action on Thursday with a $15,000 Warm Up race. When the smoke cleared Kevin Brannon was standing in the winners circle after defeating Jeff Serra in the final round.
Brannon posted a .005 reaction time in the final in his FTI Performance sponsored dragster. While Serra, of In Motion Solutions, left -.005 early in his ’67 Camaro.
On the dragster ladder, Brannon met Canadian Fred Angres. Brannon was almost perfect at both ends of the track letting go .006 and running dead one to his 4.39 dial. Angres missed the tree posting a .049 reaction while running -.002 under his 4.30 dial.
In the all doorcar semifinals, Serra paired against Chris Mancini and his Chevy II. Serra let go .001 and took .006 stripe to post a 5.245 on his 5.22 dial for the win. Mancini was .021 at the tree and .012 above his 5.26 dial.
The schedule for the weekend includes three main events. With a $50K on Friday, a $75K on Saturday, and a $25K on Sunday. The SFG team will be writing some massive checks this weekend.
