Koy Collier Wins $20K at Texas Triple Tens

Koy Collier won the $20K Box final on Sunday while Troy Morgan defeated Jake Howard in the $10K No Box final.

ENNIS, TX – The third event in the Texas Triple Tens series is officially complete and there are several new names to add to the list of winners.

Saturday’s weather forced the staff at The Texas Triple Tens to make the best possible decision in the interest of the racers.  Saturday and Sunday’s payouts were combined and competitors faced off for double payouts on Sunday at the Texas Motorplex.

Friday Triple Texas Tens Race Results

Troy Morgan took the first win on Sunday in the No Box Class defeating Jake Howard. Howard was competing in his second final round appearance of the weekend.  Morgan arrived for the event Sunday morning and his performance was incredible.

His only loss of the day occurred first round when his .029 package didn’t earn him a win light in round one. However it did make him the recipient of the Round 1 Best Losing Package Award presented by Inkman Racing Fuels.  Inkman Racing Fuels provided Morgan with a free buyback into competition and it proved meaningful in the final round.

Runner-up Jake Howard, who won Friday’s No Box event, had to run himself in the semi-finals of Sunday’s race.  Howard has claimed a win at each of the three Texas Triple Tens events thus far.

NHRA Sportsman racer Koy Collier (Benton, LA) was Sunday’s $20,000 winner.  Hunter Patton (Crockett, TX) turned it .001 red in the final against Collier’s .024 package.  Collier continues to make a name for himself in the bracket racing industry.

There were several sponsors who stepped on board for the third Texas Triple Tens event.  By doing so, they enhanced several racers’ experience. Kyle Riley of SFG Promotions gave away three separate entries to the $50,000 races at the $525,000 to win event June 26-30 in Martin, Michigan.

The first recipient was Philip Pennington who laid down a perfect run on day one of competition.  This makes the third consecutive event where a Texas Triple Tens participant has had a perfect run during eliminations.

Donny Burleson also received an entry to the SFG event for having the best overall losing package (.013) during Friday’s competition.  Curt Harvey received the final entry of the weekend for his best overall losing package on Sunday (.014).

The Texas Triple Tens racers and staff are very appreciative of the companies who partnered with the event to bring a better experience for all racers.  Best losing package sponsors, prizes, and recipients were as follows:

INKMAN RACING FUEL – Troy Morgan (.029)

INKMAN RACING FUEL – Donny Burleson (.013)

CALIFORNIA CAR COVER – Canaan Barrilleaux (.023)

LIMITLESS CAR CARE – Blair Nelson (.040)
