Gage Burch, Kenny Underwood, and Stephen “Champ” McCrory headline winners at the RT Promotions New Year Nationals held at PBIR.
The 4th Annual RT Promotions New Year Nationals big money bracket racing event closed the 2018 racing season with a bang. Racers from across the country lined up for a shot at a $10,000 payday.
The RT Promotions New Year Nationals welcomed a huge number of racers over the two-day event. Well over 400 racers participated over the New Year’s weekend. Definitely a great turnout for the fourth edition at Palm Beach International Raceway.
Even with a large turnout, some familiar names made the headlines taking home huge paychecks in the process. Gage Burch finished a strong 2018 season with yet another double. He won his very last Jr. Dragster race on Saturday night, he aged out, and followed it up with a $10,000 No-Box win on Sunday.
Gage’s victory was even more special since they finished his new Mustang the week of the event. Winning in his first outing with a new car had to feel great.
The Kenny Underwood freight train rolled over the field once again when he drove his trusty Firebird to a $10,000 Box victory on Sunday. Kenny’s season has been one for the record books as he’s won about everything there’s to win in 2018. If his win on Sunday is any indication, 2019 might be a repeat of 2018. See more on Kenny here.
Stephen “Champ” McCrory borrowed a couple of rides at PBIR and quickly found the winners circle on Saturday night. Driving Jason Folk’s beautiful dragster, Champ drove through a tough field to collect the $10,000 victory. I guess that’s why they call him Champ.
