Texas Turkey Hunt $10K comes to Houston Raceway
Houston Raceway brings big money bracket racing to Texas on Thanksgiving weekend with the Texas Turkey Hunt Nov. 29-30.
HOUSTON – Big money bracket racing comes to Houston Raceway on Nov. 29-30 with the Texas Turkey Hunt two-day bracket race. The race, scheduled for the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, gives racers a change to win $5K on Friday and $10K on Saturday.

Texas Turkey Hunt
Racers in the Super Pro class will compete for $5K on Friday and $10K on Saturday for a $275 entry fee (with pre-enter). Single day entry on Friday is $125 with a $50 buyback. Saturday’s single day entry is $200 and buybacks are $100.
In No-Box, racers will compete for $5K on Friday and Saturday for a weekend entry fee of $225 (with pre-enter). Buybacks in No-Box are $50 each day.
The deadline to pre-enter is Monday November 25th. Pre-registration can be paid to Media@houstonraceway.com.

Spectator admission is $25 for Friday and Saturday. Saturday only is $15.
Saturday’s schedule includes a Dial-for-Dollars event for $20 with a 50% payback. This will occur on Saturday morning after the new entry time run. Closest to the dial without going under wins the purse and will receive the wait-and-see first round bye. The tie-breaker will be the best non-red reaction time.
Second round losers can purchase a lotto ticket for the chance to re-enter the race. Tickets are $10 each and one ticket will be pulled for Super Pro and No-Box.
Turkey Hunt Rules
- 1/8 mile bracket racing
- Double entries allowed
- Delay Boxes must be removed from No-Box cars
- Door cars run door cars in Super Pro
- Trans Brakes run Trans Brakes in No-Box
- Event is run as four classes with four byes per round until one car is left
- $5,000 race based off 75 entries 1st round
- $10,000 race based off 90 entries 1st round
- Bye is determined from previous round, and will carry over

Texas Turkey Hunt Schedule
Stacking begins on Thursday at Gate 3.
The gates open at 7AM on Friday with a Test-N-Tune from 9AM to Noon. Class time trial is at 1PM with eliminations starting at 3PM.
On Saturday, the gates open at 7AM with a new entry time run at 9AM. The Dial-for-Dollars will follow the new entry time run and eliminations will begin after the Dial-for-Dollars.
