The doorcar only bracket race attracted some of the toughest racers in the country. The racing was brutal as evidenced by the reaction times and packages thrown down. For instance, the top 50 winning reaction times from round one were .009 or better. There were six winning .000 lights, and three .000 lights that didn’t generate a win light.

The best losing package of round one was a .006-pack. Clayton Roberts and Nick Whaley put on a show in their race. Whaley was .001 and dead on zero in the loss. That’s right, a one “thou” package didn’t win. Roberts was .000 and dead “one” to take the .0007 win.
