West Coast So-Cal Summer Classic Race Results
Big money bracket racing returned to Auto Club Dragway with the West Coast Bracket Races So-Cal Summer Classic on Labor Day weekend.
FONTANA, CA – The West Coast Bracket Races team brought big dollar bracket racing to Auto Club Dragway with the So-Cal Summer Classic on Labor Day weekend. The event featured a $5,000 race on Saturday and a $7,500 race on Sunday for Super Pro along with $2,000 to win each day in Pro.
With over 100 Super Pro cars entered on Sunday, the promoters added $2,500 to the winners purse making it $10,000 to win on Sunday. The So-Cal Summer Classic featured something for everyone with Jr. Dragster racing, a Run for the Money on Friday, a motorcycle shootout, and Sportsman class racing.

Friday Run for the Money Results
After parking and registration on Friday, racers took aim at the Run for the Money event on Friday evening. Racers paid $20 to enter the event with the best eight packages moving into a shootout for all the money.
At the round of four, Tristan Craig advanced over Michael Agnew while Ashley Deuschle defeated RJ Simrock to reach the final. There, Craig took out Ashley and her Corvette to claim the Run for the Money cash!

Saturday So-Cal Summer Classic Race Results
RJ Simrock, a long-time chassis builder out of El Cajon, defeated local standout Rob Strong in the $5K Super Pro final. The win was Simrock’s second in WCBR competition. His first came in the Pro class at the 2017 West Coast Classic.

Mr. Run for the Money, Seth Polvadore, won the Pro class on Saturday taking the win over CW Hoefer in the $2K final. This was Polvadore’s sixth WCBR final round appearance.
Seth is a constant fixture and regular threat in the West Coast Bracket Racing events. Hoefer also had a big day after making the Sportsman final earlier in the day.

In the Sportsman final, Hubert Pierce defeated the aforementioned CW Hoefer to claim the $500 victory.

Sunday So-Cal Summer Classic Race Results
Division 7 Super Gas hitter Brad Pierce proved you CAN bracket race a Super Gas car when he defeated Peyton Januik in the Super Pro final. The win, originally scheduled to pay $7,500, was increased to $10K by the WCBR staff.
Pierce earned the bye at three cars while Januik defeated Daniel Fiello. That left the the two talented racers to square off with $10,000 on the line. Januik turned it red while Pierce was .00 to claim his first WCBR Main Event victory.

The Pro class was dominated by Pedro Valadez on Sunday. Valadez was double entered and drove both cars down to the semifinals. There he received the bye with one entry and defeated Jonathan Fiello with his other.
This allowed Pedro to race himself in the $2,000 final taking both the win and runner up. The fantastic outing for the hard working racer and his crew resulted in a spot on the coveted DragChamp Top 10 List.

In the Sportsman class Sacha Hoefer, one of the best footbraker’s in the country, collected the hardware and her 1st WCBR big check.

Clayton Howey defeated Aaron Pine in an 8 Bike Shootout to capture the first West Coast Bracket Races Motorcycle Invitational.

The Jr. Dragster Invitational brought 48 kids to Auto Club Dragway to compete in three 16-car fields. Winners are listed below.
Group 1 (6-9) – Troy Barton over Jace Renolli

Group 2 (10-12) – Abbigail Rogers over Kayslee Price

Group 3 (13-17) – Tyler Smith over Aaron Covington
