Winners Crowned at Race 3 of the SFG 300 Series
David Taylor, KC Pesnell and Hayden Smith cashed in at SFG 300 Series at Montgomery Raceway Park this past weekend.
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA – The SFG 300 Series rolled into Montgomery Raceway Park for the two-day event on August 17-18, 2019. Racers flocked from the surrounding areas and many Alabama local racers came out for a shot at the large SFG payouts.

With a limit of 300 racers, 150 dragsters up against 150 doorcars, we saw the best in the business battling it out all weekend long.
The event offered a shot at $15K on Friday, $50K on Saturday, and $20K on Sunday. The event also included a “Young Guns” Junior Dragster $1,000 Shootout on both days.

Semifinalists included Charlie Hardy and Cole Hickman, Gaines Hickman’s brother.

Saturday $50K Main Event
KC Pesnell, a young local racer from Gardendale, Alabama stepped out his junior dragster late last year. Pesnell soon found himself in the winners circle with a fifty-thousand-dollar check in hand.
KC made SFG history as the youngest main event winner. Neal Bush missed the tree and was the runner-up in his Vega wagon.
Semifinalists included Cory Gulitti and Chase Gatwood.

Sunday $20K Main Event
Hayden Smith parked his ’68 Camaro in the winners circle to close out the weekend. Smith was .014 dead three for the win over Friday’s $15K winner David Taylor. Taylor was .013 and four above for the runner-up.
Semifinalists included Darrell Pittman and Saturday’s runner-up Neal Bush.

Junior Dragster Shootout
On Saturday and Sunday, the junior dragster shootout featured two classes, 8.90 and 7.90. The junior dragster drivers brought their A-game and proved they were ready to race.
Kaden Pruett is now a two-time SFG Junior Dragster Champion after parking his dragster in the winners circle again in the 8.90 class. Kaden is a rising star and one to keep your eye on in the future.

Kholten Fuller doubled up this weekend in the 7.90 class. On Saturday, Fuller defeated Brycen Hartmann in the final round after Hartmann turned it red. On Sunday, Fuller was .033 dead nine to take the win over a red-lighting Owen Middlebrooks.

Congratulations to all winners and finalists at the SFG 300 series event at Montgomery Motorsports Park!
