Division 7 LODRS Results from Vegas
Joe Mozeris, Jimmy DeFrank, and Greg Luneack led the list of the winners as the Division 7 LODRS completed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
LAS VEGAS – Racers from across the country return to Vegas to chase points as they try to lock down divisional and world championships. The event, always one of the most well attended of all divisional events, hosted over 700 sportsman racers.

Joe Mozeris came out on top earning his second career LODRS Wally after defeating veteran racer David Rampy in the final round. Mozeris’ win earned him second place in the points standings in Division 7.
SUPER STOCK
Jimmy DeFrank, Thousands Oaks, Calif., ’10 Cobalt, SS/BM, 9.040, 140.87 def. Mike Braswell, Santo, Texas, ’66 Nova, SS/GA, 10.030, 129.73.
Earning his 50th career win and the Division 7 Super Stock Championship, Jimmy DeFrank had a weekend like many have had before. DeFrank needed to win the race to lock up the championship. Being the very successful racer that he is, it was no surprise he was able to seal the deal and take home the trophy and the championship.


STOCK ELIMINATOR
Gregg Luneack, Vista, Calif., ’71 Demon, D/SA, 11.092, 112.39 def. Scott Burton, Golden, Colo., ’10 Mustang, FS/C, 9.857, 131.16.
Gregg Luneack claimed his first LODRS Wally of the season by defeating Scott Burton in the final round of Stock Eliminator. Burton traveled from Colorado in hopes of passing Tyler Wudarczyk for the division championship. With a runner-up finish, he was able to pass Wudarczyk by 1 point and claim the Division 5 Stock Eliminator Championship.
SUPER COMP
Don Nichols, Lincoln, Neb., dragster, 9.054, 165.17 def. Kris Whitfield, Littleton, Colo., dragster, 9.068, 163.43.
Parker Theobald was able to capture the Division 7 Super Comp Championship this weekend after multiple racers were fighting for the title. With #10 only being 35 points behind the leader, it was a tight weekend for sure. Event winner Don Nichols took home his 4th LODRS Wally.

SUPER GAS
Tom Stalba, Hammonton, N.J., ’63 Corvette, 9.991, 164.53 def. Chet Tucker, Sulphur, Okla., ’58 Corvette, foul.
Tom Stalba took home the Super Gas trophy after defeating Chet Tucker in the final round. Stalba traveled all the way from New Jersey, some 2,500 miles, in hopes of coming home with a trophy. Stalba won his 27th LODRS career Wally. The win moved him up to 3rd place in Division 1 Super Gas points.
SUPER STREET
Troy Grant, Golden, Colo., ’66 Chevy II, 11.103, 136.10 def. Jimmy Galante, Sun Valley, Calif., ’67 Nova, 11.071, 145.53.
Troy Grant took home the trophy in Super Street after defeating Jimmy Galante in the final round. Grant’s final round victory also gave him the Division 5 Super Street Championship. For the past couple years, the championship for Super Street in Division 5 has always came down to the final round at Vegas.
TOP DRAGSTER
Alan Kenny, Kutztown, Pa., dragster, was unopposed.
By the end of the weekend, Alan Kenny claimed the Division 1 Top Dragster Championship by winning the event. He came into the weekend needing to win the event to lock up the championship, and he did just that.

TOP SPORTSMAN
Larry Demers, Carroll, Iowa, ’10 Cobalt, 7.145, 192.85 def. Chris McCallum, Grand Junction, Colo., ’63 Corvette, 6.880, 199.52
Larry Demers took home the trophy in Top Sportsman and finished 2nd in Division 5 points standings. Even though Allen Firestone was eliminated first round, he was still crowned the Division 5 champion after the stellar season he had.
In Division 7 Top Sportsman points, Doug Crumlich and Richard Okerman were both eliminated in round 4 at Vegas, leaving the championship spot tied with 344 points. The tiebreaker is the driver with the most points won in scored home division events. Richard Okerman wins the tie breaker being all of his points were earned in home division events.
