Top Dragster
Ross Laris once again qualified on the pole with a 6.107 effort. Ross won from the pole at the last race he attended, the Spring Nationals in Houston. We’ll see if he can duplicate that feat in Atlanta.
With a short field of just 27 cars, the field was spread out from Laris’s 6.10 to Howard Bowman’s 7.89 ET. This difference will create some large handicap starts on Saturday.
Team DragChamp picks Jeff Strickland was 18th while Steve Cohen was 20th in qualifying.
Madison Ellison qualified 24th with a 7.325 lap. Her father, former world champion Lynn, is performing crew chief duties this weekend.
