Justin Jenkins defeats Brenda Grubbs to collect his second Mile High Nationals trophy and fourth win overall.
DENVER – Super Stock racer Justin Jenkins drove his GT/GA ’09 Cobalt to his fourth NHRA national event win on Sunday at Bandimere Speedway. Jenkins, no stranger to the Mile High winners circle, defeated another former winner in Brenda Grubbs.

In the final, Jenkins grabbed an .011 to .023 advantage off the line. Grubbs quickly caught and passed Jenkins only to breakout at the finish. Grubbs took .068 at the stripe to go -.021 under her dial. Jenkins was .059 over for the win.

Grubbs, the DragChamp pre-race pick to win the event, had good fortune throughout the race. During five rounds of competition, she benefited from two red lights, a competition single, and a bad light by her 2nd round opponent.

Jenkins was wired to the tree all weekend. This was evidenced by his .012 reaction time average. His worst light was a .021 which came on his semifinal bye run.
Congratulations to Justin Jenkins on his fourth NHRA national event win.
