Monty Bogan Wins 2019 Thunder Valley Nationals
Monty Bogan wins Stock Eliminator at the 2019 NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.
BRISTOL – Monty Bogan claimed his second NHRA national event win of the season and fourth of his career at NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. Driving his sweet D/SA ’67 Camaro to the win over class veteran Mike Cotten.

After a Super Stock win earlier in the season at the 4-Wide Nationals, Bogan won a close double-breakout final round by .001-second. Bogan grabbed a small lead at the start with a .010 to .019 reaction advantage. As they moved down track, Bogan survived the double breakout math when his -.006 under 11.094 was just enough to take down Cotten’s -.007 under 11.173.

The win came in Bogan’s third national event final of 2019. At the 4-Wide Nationals, Monty just missed a double win. He made the final in both Super Stock and Stock but left with a win and a runner up.

At Bristol, Bogan ran through a tough field with early round wins over Jimmy Hidalgo, Ricky Pennington, and Southern Nationals Champ Chip Johnson.
