The win also catapulted Jeremy into second place in the nationals points standings. It marked his second final round appearance of the season at Summit Motorsports Park after he won the Cavalcade of Stars Lucas Oil event earlier in the year.

Mason was deadly at the tree after opening eliminations with a couple of .004 reactions, a .010, and a .012. He combined a .004 light and a 9.897 to advance on a double-breakout against Doug Kroft in round one.

Mason cut it close at the stripe in his second round race with Dave Dahlem. His .010 take .003 resulted in a close 9.941 to 9.909 victory. The win earned Mason a bye in round three.

In round four, Mason used a .004 and one above to take out Leo Zynda who posted a .027 and one above lap. The win moved Mason into the semifinals where he would post his best lap of the race. Competing against Mike Jirousek, Mason was .012 dead one which forced Jirousek into a breakout loss.

Tim Gillespie also made his way to the final on the strength of solid reaction times and consistent runs that were within a hundredth of the 9.90 index.

In the final round, Gillespie is .017 take .017 to go -.008 under the 9.90 index. Mason posted his second consecutive 9.90 to claim the win. His .020 light combined with a 9.905 was more than enough to earn the Super Gas win.

With several races left to claim, Jeremy Mason looks to be in great shape to make a run at the Super Gas world championship.
