John Labbous 2019 JEGS Allstars Super Gas Champion
CHICAGO – It’s not often that John Labbous adds a new accomplishment to his huge drag racing resume but he did just that today. Labbous won the JEGS Allstars at Route 66 Raceway for the first time.
After an impressive first half of the season, Labbous continued his winning ways after defeating Division 1 ace Iggie Boicesco in the final round. After Phil Gilbert left early in the first round, Labbous moved into the final after Bill Cawsey ran under in round two.
Labbous grabbed the lead in the final with a .008 to .016 reaction time advantage over Boicesco. In the double breakout finish, Labbous took .001 at the stripe posting a 9.891 to Boicesco’s further under 9.884. Eight take one in the final may sound impressive but that’s what this guy does week in and week out.
