Bones wins NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals
Todd “Bones” Ewing wins his eighth NHRA national event after claiming the Super Comp win at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals.
BRISTOL – Todd “Bones” Ewing took a single in the NHRA Thunder Valley Super Comp final round after Ray Miller Jr. broke in his semifinal win. The win, the eighth of his career, came in Ewing’s thirteenth national event final round.

To reach the final, Ewing won a super-close contest over Lauren Freer in the semifinals. After Freer grabbed a small lead at the start, .008 to .014, she came up short by the smallest of margins at the finish line. Freer’s 8.928 was eclipsed by Ewing’s 8.922 by just .0004-second.

Miller Jr., owner of Ray Miller Race Cars, was unable to make the call for the final round after breaking his motor in the semifinals. Miller defeated David Morris in the semifinals to reach his third final round.
Bones was also a DragChamp pick to win the race. At each national event, our sportsman preview includes our picks to win each class. You can see our Bristol picks here.
