Dave Miller wins Top Sportsman at New England Nats
Dave Miller wins Top Sportsman at the NHRA New England Nationals. The win was his first in national event competition.
EPPING, NH – In a battle of first time national event finalist, Dave Miller drove his S-10 pickup past Richard Lachapelle to claim his first national event Wally.

Miller’s run to the championship began with a competition single in round one after his opponent, Brian Bell, was a no-show. In round two, Miller was .006 take .011 to turn back DragChamp pre-race pick Nick Willard.
The win earned Miller a third round bye run sending him to the semifinals where he met Thunder Valley Nationals winner Johnny Brooks. Brooks, looking for his second straight win, was .022 take .035 to break out by .020-second. Dave Miller was .018 and .019 above to move into his first final round.

In the final round, Lachapelle missed the tree with a .064 light to give Miller a huge advantage. Miller cleaned it up on the top end posting a .037 over 6.937 to claim the Top Sportsman crown.
