Kevin Martin wins twice in three days at the 3rd Bulb Throwdown held March 6-8 at Thunder Valley Raceway Park.
NOBLE, Okla. – Thunder Valley Raceway Park kicked off their 2020 bracket racing season with the 3rd Bulb Throwdown. The bottom bulb event reserved for doorcars only brought racers from ten states to compete for big money off the bottom.
Prior to the event, the facility made improvements to the racing surface which received great reviews from those in attendance. Great weather, big crowds, and competing for big money made for a great weekend of racing.
The big story from the weekend was Kevin Martin. Driving Eric Sandlin’s Dee LUV Macheen, Martin dominated the weekend winning twice over the three-day event.
Racing rolled into action on Friday with $5,000 on the line. When the dust settled Kevin Martin was holding the big check after defeating Jake Howard in the final. Shane Rees was the lone semifinalist.
Saturday’s schedule included a $10,000 to win main event followed by a Gamblers race. Kris Gasaway defeated James Kunkel in the main event final to earn the $10K payday. After a runner-up finish on Friday night, Jake Howard got it done on Saturday after winning the Gamblers race.
The final event of the three-day 3rd Bulb Throwdown weekend saw Kevin Martin capture his second $5,000 check of the event. In the Sunday final, Martin defeated Kevin Riedel to earn win #2. Tripp West took home the win in the Super Pro class to wrap up the race weekend.
