Saturday Results from the Southern Big Buck Nationals

Saturday race results from the 2020 Southern Big Buck Nationals from No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La. Charlie Lockhart, Brandon Taylor, Hunter Patton, and Matt Nowling capture big wins on Saturday.

The 7th Annual Southern Big Buck Nationals returned to No Problem Raceway officially kicking off the 2020 big money bracket racing season. This event also marked the first event in the eight-race CP Racing Promotions points series that is absolutely free for any racers that take the stage beam first round.

The weekend began Thursday night with the Southern Big Buck Practice Tree race held in the tower at No Problem Raceway. Opie Pearce took the win over Jesse Marceaux to take home the first win of the weekend. Racers from around the country were excited to kick off the 2020 race season and showed up to race for big money in the electronics and no electronics classes.

Friday’s purse was added to Saturday and Sunday’s main event due to delays resulting from a wreck and multiple oil downs. During Saturday’s main event in No Box, Charlie Lockhart and Greg Rushing met in a rematch final round of their race earlier in the year at the King of the Coast Ben Franklin 5Ks.

Rushing took the win at Emerald Coast but Charlie Lockhart evened the score by taking the win in the main event of No Box. Brandon Taylor and Stephen McCrory met in the final round of the main event of the Box class. Taylor who is the owner of both cars lined up next to McCrory and then after they completed the burnout decided to high five and swap cars before completing the final round.

Taylor ended up taking the win over McCrory while behind the wheel of his Nova. The High Roller Shootouts followed the Main Event Saturday night. Matt Nowling was able to take the win over Troy Poindexter in the No Box Shootout and Hunter Patton was able to take the win over Koy Collier in the Box Shootout.

After a big day of bracket racing, racers will have one final shot at big money on Sunday at No Problem Raceway. Look for more race results from the Southern Big Buck Nationals as they are available.
