Spring Fling Practice Tree Challenge

Kyle Seipel and Peter Biondo are like a lot of us during this crazy time…bored out of our minds. So, they decided to do something about it.

COVID-19 has caused racers across the country to clean out their garages, clean their racecars, clean their rigs, and wonder when we’re ever going to get to go racing again.

The pandemic has caused racetracks all over the United States to shut down due to state orders, leaving racers with nothing to do other than wish they were racing. The Flings’ own Kyle Seipel and Peter Biondo decided to hold a Practice Tree Tournament for anyone in the country to participate via Zoom.

Seipel and Biondo decided to make it five separate races with 10 people in each race. They took the first 50 entries at $100 a person.

All participants called into the live Zoom site and hit the tree five times, with red lights counting as an .025 reaction time. The five reactions times put together the racer’s average for the event.

The three best reaction time averages won the following prizes:

1st Place: 2020 Spring Fling Million Entry

2nd Place: 2020 Spring Fling Million Entry

3rd Place: $1000 Gift Certificate to Biondo Racing Products

Every hour, 10 drivers logged on and interacted with each other while Peter and Kyle called the action. The first race was held Saturday, April 4th and it was a HUGE hit for the racers!

23 different states and Canada were represented in the first event, and Kansas native JR Lobner came out on top. His .001, .001, .006, .002, and .010 reaction times came out to be a .0040 average, giving him an entry into the 2020 Spring Fling Million.

Second place was given to Florida native Gage Burch. His .004, .000, .008, .008, and .004 came out to be a .0048 average, giving him an entry to the 2020 Spring Fling Million.

The Biondo Racing Gift Certificate was awarded to Louisiana native Koy Collier after his .008, .008, .002, .006, and .006 averaged out to a .0060.

Other racers who participated in the tournament were big names like Cory Gulitti, Marko Perivolaris, Tanner Theobald, Shawn Langdon , Ryan Mangus, and Jeff Verdi.

The first tournament was so well received that Peter and Kyle decided to have another one, which will be held on Saturday, April 11th. The top three finishers will receive entries into the 2020 Spring Fling Million.
