2020 NHRA West Central Division 5 Champions

The NHRA West Central Division 5 crowned their 2020 champions. Bradley Johnson and James Kunkel lead the list of winners.

The NHRA West Central Division 5 crowned their 2020 champions recently after completing another exciting and successful season. TD racer Bradley Johnson and SC racer James Kunkel lead the list of winners.

Joining them on the list of winners is Doug Engels, Justin Jenkins, Jeremy Romero, Jeremy Demers, Mark Von Heeder, Matt Driskell, and Patrick Roetto.

Competition Eliminator – Doug Engels

Doug Engels finished the season with 403 points, totaling out to three wins and two runner-ups. Following behind him was Don Thomas with 315 points and Jim Greenheck with 260 points.

Engels’ wins came at the Topeka double header and Yellowstone. His runner-ups came at Orlando and Yellowstone.

Super Stock – Justin Jenkins

Justin Jenkins finished the year with 365 points, totaling out to three divisional wins. Following behind him was Tyler Wudarczyk with 268 points and Wyatt Wagner with 267 points.

Jenkin’ wins came at the Topeka double header event and Yellowstone.

Stock Eliminator – Jeremy Romero

Jeremy Romero finished the season with 330 points, totaling out to two runner-ups. Following behind him was Ted Romero with 310 points and Brent Kopejtka with 307 points.

Romero’s runner-ups came at Yellowstone and Vegas.

Super Comp – James Kunkel

James Kunkel finished the season with 416 points, totaling out to three divisional wins. Following behind him was Jon Medlin with points and Craig Anderson with points.

Kunkel’s three wins came at the Topeka double header and the Bayou.

Super Gas – Jeremy Demers

Jeremy Demers finished the season with 363 points, totaling out to one win and one runner-up. Following behind him was Rick Cates with 319 points and Ryan Stifflear with 289 points.

Demers’ one win came at Earlville and his one runner-up at Dallas.

Super Street – Mark Von Heeder

Mark Von Heeder finished the season with 387 points, totaling out to two wins and one runner-up. Following behind him was Wayde Samuel with 274 points and Andrew Withers with 266 points.

Von Heeder’s two wins came at Topeka and Yellowstone. His runner-up came at Yellowstone, also.

Top Dragster – Bradley Johnson

Bradley Johnson finished the year with 355 points, totaling out to two wins. Following behind him was Robbie Gear with 260 points and Ross Gregory with 258 points.

Johnson’s two wins came at Topeka and Las Vegas.

Top Sportsman – Matt Driskell

Matt Driskell finished the year with 359 points, totaling out to one win and two runner-ups. Following behind him was Allen Firestone with 336 points and Rich Smith with 262 points.

Driskell’s one win came at Earlville and his two runner-ups at Tulsa and Great Bend.

Sportsman Motorcycle – Patrick Roetto

Patrick Roetto finished his season with 360 points, totaling out to three wins and one runner-up. Following behind him was Gordon Fangmeyer with 283 points and Donnie Durenberger Jr with 253 points.

Roetto’s three wins came at Tulsa, Topeka, and Great Bend. His runner-up came at Belle Rose.
