DragChamp Top 10 List – 05/13/20

1 – Hunter Patton

A week removed from running over the huge fields at the Windmill Nationals, Hunny Wayne picked up two Gambler’s race wins at the Down with the Sickness $10K at Pine Valley Raceway. Four wins in two weeks against super talented fields is more than enough to lock down the one spot this week.

2 – Dale Scates

Scates dominate Down with the Sickness Race

2018 IHRA World Champ Dale Scates had a big weekend at the Cummings Family’s Down with the Sickness $10K in Texas. Dale won the High Roller Gamblers race on Friday and the $20K Main Event on Saturday!

3 – Dale Crouch

Dale Crouch secured the two spot after earning a big $25,000 victory at the SFG Mother’s Day race in Darlington. Crouch defeated Shane Maddox in the final to claim the big check.

4 – Cliff Hall

Although the West Coast isn’t officially open, there are some underground races being held and Cliff Hall is killing it. Leaving off the bottom in an all-run event, Hall won $2K Friday and $5K Saturday. This was his fifth straight win in his Red Rope Falcon.

A week prior he wrecked his Mustang in the No Box final round. So he jumped back in the Falcon and kept on winning.

5 – The Richardson Boys

The Richardson Boys have been on fire recently. At Ardmore, Austin won the No-Box Gamblers on Friday and Ryan won Super Pro on Sunday. Last week, the brothers made up the semifinals so they split and quit at Clarksville I believe.

6 – Jake Howard

Footbrake phenom Jake Howard raced the last two weeks and won at both outings. He earned the No-Box title at Ardmore on Sunday and followed with a win at Noble last weekend.

7 – Stephen Hughes

Former Million Dollar Race winner Stephen Hughes had a solid outing at the Down with the Sickness $10K. Hughes was runner up in both the $20K Main Event and Gamblers race on Saturday.

8 – Shane Maddox

Shane Maddox just missed a $25K SFG payday on Sunday after falling to Dale Crouch in the SFG Mother’s Day final round at Darlington.

9 – Dylan Hite

On the junior side, Dylan Hite made some noise in a borrowed car at Emerald Coast last weekend. He doubled up by winning the all-run class on Saturday and Sunday.

10 – Lucas Walker & Charlie Lockhart

Wrapping up this week’s Top 10 is the talented team of Lucas Walker and Charlie Lockhart. After making the long haul to Texas from Kentucky, the teammates split and quit the No-Box Gamblers race on Friday.

Charlie broke a camshaft prior to the final and went home but Lucas made some noise on Saturday after being doubled at eight cars.
