Barclay and Truitt Strike Gold at the Top Bulb 150
JR Barclay and Russell Truitt strike gold at the end of the rainbow after rain showers cause the Top Bulb 150 to alter plans.
GULFPORT, MS- The BTE King of the Coast Series presented by David McMurtry Racing Engines Top Bulb 150 is in the books. The original 3-day event was altered down to 1-day of racing events due to weather. Rain showers cut the Friday Night Test-N-Tune/Gamblers Races short and additional heavy rains came through late Friday/Early Saturday morning.
After six plus hours of unsuccessfully attempting to get the racing surface into a safe position to race Saturday morning, the decision was made to combine the Saturday and Sunday 20K events into a single 40K Sunday event. They also made a decision to add a Saturday Night Gamblers Race as the track surface was in a position to race late afternoon. With over 130 entires in the Gambler’s, the $3,000-to-win race turned into a $4,000-to-win race.
The Gambler’s Race halted the racing action at 8 cars due to an oil down, a starting line accident, and rear end breakage on the starting line. The Gambler’s Race concluded Sunday morning. Racers received a time run prior to Sunday’s 40K race. Sunday’s racing action went without any major downtime which was welcomed with open arms.

Sunday $40K Results
After combining both days of the Top Bulb 150, JR Barclay claimed the crisp $40,000 payday. In the final round, Barclay took on Heath Bambarger.
The semi-finalist was Michael Harville. The quarter-final round included Cole Cummings and Cody Harrison.

$4,000 Gambler’s Race
