CCMP Presents 1st Annual Mike Smith Memorial Race

The 1st Annual Mike Smith Memorial Race is coming up, October 14-17, 2021 at Capital City Motorsports Park!

MONTGOMERY, AL- The 1st Annual Mike Smith Memorial Race will take place at Capital City Motorsports Park October 14-17, 2021. Racers will have the opportunity to compete for $20,000 on three separate days. In addition to the main events, there will also be a $5,000-to-win Duck Race on Friday and Saturday.

Remembering Mike Smith

Mike smith was a fearce competitor for well over 4 decades all over the south and in big money bracket racing. Mike was known for his shirtless appearance and always had a cigar in hand. Mike was one of those old school racers, in that he would bend over backwards to help you get to the starting line just to put you on the trailer.

Mike was not only an icon figure in the racing world, he was a huge figuer in his small town of Roanoke Alabama. There, Mike owned the local machanic shop and was a local firefighter.

Outside of racing, Mike enjoyed his Harley and spending time with his kids and 6 grand children, which he adored. Mike will also be heavly missed at the og million. For over 10 years Mike was the man behind the grill at the racers appreciation steak dinner, cooking for thousands of racers over the years. Mike will be greatly missed in this world!

$20K’s

The three $20,000-to-win races will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with $5,000 going to the runner-up on each day. Entry fees for all three days will be $400 or $200 for a single days. There will also be a $150 1st round buyback available for those who are in need.

Duck Race

The $5,000-to-win Duck Race will start at the end of the $20K 5th round on Friday and Saturday evening. The entry fee will be $100 each day and will be capped at $150 entries. There will be no buybacks and the runner-up will earn $1,000.

Schedule

Gates will open each day at 8AM with 1 Time Run beginning at 9AM. On Thursday, they will open at 10AM for parking and Test & Tune from 2PM-8PM. There will also be a 64-car shootout Thursday evening at 7PM for 4 spots in the Great American Million.
