DragChamp Racer Spotlight with Dylan Carr
Dylan Carr from “Danger Dylan Racing” is in the DragChamp Jr. Racer Spotlight this week.
BRADENTON, FL- Dylan Carr always knew he would eventually get his chance in the driver’s seat and follow his family’s footsteps. Like most kids in the drag racing world, Dylan is getting his racing career started in a Junior Dragster.
The Bradenton, Florida native, Carr was introduced to the sport at a young age – according to his mom he was just 4 days old! His dad, grandpa, older brother all race and his mom used to so, it was just a matter of time as to when Dylan would get his own race car. Dylan has now been racing for 2 years.

Racing Operation
Carr races at Bradenton Motorsports Park and Immokalee Regional Raceway mostly and has just moved up into the 8.90 Junior Dragster class. His car is a Halfscale Dragster with a 11.90 Raptor Motor onboard. Besides driving duties, Dylan helps to maintain his car. At the track, he is responsible for filling his car with fuel and checking his own tires.

Biggest Impact and Role Models
Carr is surrounded by an amazing group of racers but his dad, Shane Carr is the one who he looks up to the most. His dad has helped him learn how to hit the tree and has taught him a lot about racing including how to drive the finish line. He looks up to his dad because he has an impressive accomplishment list and Dylan said, “He has won so much and I think he is the best racer there is. I hope I’m as good as he is one day”.
He also said that one of the hardest parts of drag racing is to try and fill his dad’s shoes. He said, “The hardest part of drag racing is trying to live up to being Shane Carr’s son. There’s a lot of pressure to be good from other people”.

Accomplishments and Future Goals
Dylan is still searching for his first win but has had 2 runner-ups at Immokalee Regional Raceway and 2 runner-ups at Bradenton Motorsports Park. He said he is most proud of his runner-ups at Immokalee because they don’t separate by age there and he is often paired with older kids with more experience.
In the future, he would like to follow his dad’s footsteps and be able to compete in big money bracket races and maybe win one of the Millions like his dad!
One piece of advice Dylan would like to give to young aspiring racers is, “to always take the time to talk to people. Listen to advice from racing people who have been successful”.

Giving Thanks
Dylan has many people whom he would like to give thanks to! He says, “Definitely my family. My parents, my brother Colton & my Pop Pop. I’ve been really blessed to have the best people helping me by sponsoring & supporting me. I hope I didn’t forget anyone. People are so good to me & all of my traveling around has allowed me to make some awesome friends!”
