Woods, Richardson, Jones, and McRae claim checks at the High 5 Energy $5K Bracket Race at Brainerd Motorsports Park.
RINGGOLD, GA- Racers headed to Brainerd Motorsports Park this past weekend, May 1-2, 2021 for the series opener of the High 5 Energy $5K Bracket Races. The event featured two shots at $5,000 for Super Pro racers, $1,500 for No Box/Footbrake racers, $500 for Junior Dragsters and some cool cash for Sportsman competitors.
This was the first race to a six part series at Brainerd Motorsports Park. For more information on this series and the schedule, visit their Facebook page.
With rain in the forecast, they were able to successfully complete all classes on Saturday and Sportsman on Sunday. On Sunday, classes with racers still left split and quit when the afternoon showers hit.
Ian Woods from Powell, TN claims the Super Pro big check over Rick Baehr from Smyrna, TN.
In the No Box class, Blake Richardson from Greenbrier, TN grabs the win over Rick Baerh from Smyrna, TN.
In the Junior Dragster class, Branson Jones from Rainsville, AL picks up the win over Avery Bolding from Rock Island, TN.
Charles McRae from Fort Oglethorpe, GA claims the Saturday Sportsman win over Rodney Davis from Athens, TN.
Rain showers caused racing to come to a half late Sunday afternoon. Sportsman was the only class to come to full completion with Ray Zumstein from Harrison, TN picking up the win over Blake Cothran.
At the time when the race wads called, Super Pro had 11 cars left in competition and No Box had two left. Junior Dragsters had six cars left.
Congratulations to all winners and finalists from the first High 5 Energy $5K Bracket Race of the series. The next event will be July 10-11, 2021.
