How Brodix Broke the Mold to Forge Champions
BRODIX has a long history that includes family, innovation, and products worthy of champions.
If you’ve been around drag racing for any period of time, you’ve heard of BRODIX Cylinder Heads. What may not be as well known is the origin behind the name.
Through a literal marriage as well as a joining of talent and hobbies, two families merged to create BRODIX. J.V. Brotherton and his father-in-law, Francis Dix, used their own knowledge and creativity to produce a history-changing product.
50 years later, BRODIX continues to be family owned and operated with J.V. and Paula Brotherton’s children (Jeff, Greg, and Jennifer) now leading the business. Although the world and racing are ever-changing, they stand strong with their devotion to making high quality products that result in outstanding achievements.
Continuous Development
What started with the production of an aluminum Hemi head in 1971, soon changed into making small block Chevy compatible heads. Over time, they developed small block Ford and Mopar compatible heads, as well as V6 Chevrolet heads.
Their catalog has now expanded to include an aluminum small block Chevy compatible engine block as well as a big block Chevy compatible version. BRODIX also has their own line of “spec” heads which are designed to the exact specifications of certain racing associations.

BRODIX has perfected each stage of cylinder head manufacturing for a multitude of applications. Customers have various valve angles, centerlines, port designs, and shapes to choose from- all with the excellent quality that BRODIX is known for.
