Mozeris Family Doubles Up at the Mile-High Nationals

Joe Mozeris (Comp) and Kayla Mozeris (SS) both brought home Wally’s this past weekend at the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals.

DENVER, CO – Joe Mozeris and Kayla Mozeris made it a weekend to remember at the Dodge/SRT Mile-High Nationals, taking home the trophies in Competition Eliminator and Super Stock.

The father-daughter double up headlines the weekend, but joining them in the winners circle are several new faces to the NHRA big stage.

Dwayne Scheitlin (STK), Shannon Nicoletti (SC), Darin Dolezal (SG), Tim Schell (SST), Kari Stark (TD), and Jimmy Lewis (TS) took home the Wally’s in each of their classes.

2021 Dodge/SRT Mile-High Nationals

Competition Eliminator – Joe Mozeris

Joe Mozeris took home his fourth National event Wally after defeating Jim Greenback in the final round. Greenheck had the starting line advantage, .028 to .080, but Mozeris chased him down for the victory. He went a 7.342 at 181 mph.

David Kramer was the semi-finalist.

Stock Eliminator – Dwayne Scheitlin

Dwayne Scheitlin won his first National event Wally after defeating Craig Maddox in the final round. Scheitlin had the starting line advantage, .017 to .054, and never trailed behind for the win.

Dig Geary was the semi-finalist.

Super Stock – Kayla Mozeris

Joining her dad in the winners circle, Kayla Mozeris defeated Scott Burton in the final round to take home her second National event Wally. Mozeris had the starting line advantage, .035 to .050, and ran a 10.832 at 117 mph to visit the winners circle.

Scott Libersher and Jim Thune were the semi-finalists.

Super Comp – Shannon Nicoletti

Shannon Nicoletti collected his first National event Wally after defeating Mitch Mustard in the final round. Nicoletti had the starting line advantage, .022 to .045, and ran a 9.557 at 160 mph.

Wayde Samuel was the semi-finalist.

Super Gas – Darin Dolezal

Darin Dolezal defeated Jeremy Siffring to take home his first National event Wally. Siffring turned it -.030, handing the win over to Dolezal who was .013 and ran a 10.495 at 148 mph.

Jeremy Demers was the semi-finalist.

Super Street – Tim Schell

Tim Schell collected his first National event Wally after defeating Dave Thompson in the final round. Thompson turned on the red bulb by -.010, handing the win over to Schell who was .013 and ran a 11.461 at 124 mph.

Joey Horan and Alex Bianco were the semi-finalists.

Top Dragster – Kari Stark

Kari Stark won her first National event Wally after defeating Betsy Peek in the final round. Peek was just a few ticks too early, -.003, to give the win to Stark. Stark was .053 and ran a 7.391 at 181 mph.

Semi-finalists were Ross Gregory and Victoria Johnson.

Top Sportsman – Jimmy Lewis

Jimmy Lewis defeated Duane Doffing in the final round after Doffing turned it -.011, giving Lewis his 11th National event Wally. Lewis was .012 and coasted to a 9.475 at 98 mph.

Sammy Gonzales was the semi-finalist.

Megan Strassweg

Megan Strassweg is a 23 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster sponsored by Coolshirt Systems. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
