Anthony Bertozzi and Brett Speer lead the list of winners at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway.
BRAINERD, MN – Lots of big names lined the leader board at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals this past weekend at Brainerd International Raceway. Anthony Bertozzi (SS) and Brett Speer (STK) were just a few of those people picking up Wally’s in their respective classes.
Joining them in the winners circle were Gary Stinnett (SC), Luke Bogacki (SG), Curt Harshfield (TS), and Kendra Larson (TD). Larson picked up her first National event Wally. The DragChamp team picked Luke Bogacki to win SG, adding another one to our list of right picks!

2021 Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals
Stock Eliminator – Brett Speer
Heads up! Brett Speer defeated Russ Kramer in a B/SA heads up final round to take home the trophy. Kramer had the starting line advantage, .025 to .076, but didn’t have enough power to outrun Speer’s 10.510 at 111 mph.
Johnny Diekema and Jamis Jurgens were the semi-finalists.
Super Stock – Anthony Bertozzi
Anthony Bertozzi defeated Mike Mans in the final round to take home his 26th National event Wally and his 16th in Super Stock. Bertozzi had the starting line advantage, .008 to .053, and ran a 9.019 at 146 mph on his 8.97 dial-in.
Jason DeForrest was the semi-finalist.
Super Comp – Gary Stinnett
Gary Stinnett picked up his 26th National event Wally and his 16th in Super Comp after defeating Craig Schultz in the final round. Stinnett had the starting line advantage, .025 to .036, and got to the starting line by .006 to go to the winners circle. He ran a 8.909 at 179 mph.
Dave Crawford and Johnny Labbous were the semi-finalist.
Super Gas – Luke Bogacki
Luke Bogacki had an easy final round after his opponent, Dale Evans, rolled the beams and gave Bogacki the automatic win. Luke coasted to a 10.541 at 115 mph to take home his 16th National event Wally and extend his National points lead to 702 points… and it’s only August!
Chris Hess and Johnny Labbous were the semi-finalists.
Top Dragster – Kendra Larson
There’s nothing like your first win! Kendra Larson visited the big stage for the first time after defeating Holden Laris in the final round. Laris turned on the red bulb by -.010, handing the win over to Larson who was .026 and ran a 7.088 at 188 mph on her 7.08 dial-in.
Michael Moran and Donna Patterson were the semi-finalists.
Top Sportsman – Curt Harshfield
Curt Harshfield won his second National event Wally after defeating Steve Jaeger in the final round. Harshfield put together a .030 package to make Jaeger mathematically ineligible from the hit. Curt was .022 and ran a 6.968 at 184 mph. His first Wally was just last week in Topeka in Super Street, and now in Top Sportsman.
Steve Stockton was the semi-finalist.
Megan Strassweg is a 24 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it. Megan works with TB Promotions in promoting their races and keeping entries straight, as well as keeping their social media pages updated.
