Richard Preiser has been in three straight Division 2 finals picking up the win at the recent SGMP Divisional. Preiser has to be the favorite entering the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals. To reach the final he’ll have to fight off class veterans such as John Frech, Bruno Massel Jr., and Ed Ferderkeil Jr.

DragChamp pick to win:

Bruno Massel Jr. – The talented TV host is also a former World Champ. Should be a player this weekend in his turbo car.

Super Stock – 61 Car Field

2020 World Champ Bryan Worner and his brother Byron (#2 last season) look to start the season with a strong effort in Charlotte. The brothers are no stranger to the NHRA 4-Wide winners circle as they have a history of strong performances in Charlotte. A number of big names will be looking to make some noise this week including Ricky Decker, Pete D’Agnolo, Herbie Null Jr., Nick Chiles, and many more.

DragChamp picks to win:

Corey Taylor – Corvette runner knows his way to the winners circle.

Robbie Draughon – One of the most entertaining and coolest cars in the pits. And Robbie can drive the wheels off of it!

Mark Alvey – Talented D2 runner is due for a big win.

Stock Eliminator – 60 Car Field

Drew Skillman Stock Champ Charlotte

The Stock field includes some of the best class racers in Divisions 1, 2, and 3 this week. Greg Rowe rolls into Charlotte looking to build on his recent Southern Nationals victory while semifinalists Steve Foley and Jeff Warren look to go one round further this week.

DragChamp picks to win:

Anthony Bongiovanni – Talented D1 racer should be a contender this week in his fast Mustang.

Monty Bogan Jr. – Has been extremely successful in Charlotte the last few seasons.

Steve Foley – Hungry to turn on the final win light, especially after coming so close at Atlanta.

Super Comp – 55 Car Field

Jonathan Anderson Four Wide Super Comp Champ
2019 Super Comp Champ Jonathan Anderson

Jonathan Anderson has been red-hot in 2021. He’s already won two races (1 SG & 1 SC) and been in three finals. Look for him to do well again this week as he’s the defending event champion.

DragChamp picks to win:

Ray Miller III – Hard not to pick this guy to win after all the success he’s enjoyed already this season.

Tom Stalba – Veteran D1 racer is overdue for a victory.

Mike Robilotto – Class veteran seems to find his way to Sunday afternoon finishes on a consistent basis.

Super Gas – 55 Car Field

Joe Harper Super Gas Four Wide Champ

The Super Gas field at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals is loaded with talent. Anyone in the field could be holding the Wally on Sunday afternoon. While Jonathan Anderson brings alot of momentum to Charlotte, the rest of the field will look to stop him from winning again.

DragChamp picks to win:

Steve Hoyt – D3 runner consistently lays down great laps in his Corvette roadster. Has been close the last couple of seasons so it’s time for a victory.

Jonathan Anderson – Can he put his new roadster in it’s third straight final? We’ll find out in a few days.

Rock Haas – Former Top 10 runner is due for a breakout weekend.

Top Sportsman – 21 Car Field

Jerry Albert Top Sportsman Four Wide Champion

Dylan Stott heads to Charlotte looking to add to his recent Southern Nationals victory while runner-up Sandy Wilkins hopes to improve upon his final round showing. They’ll contend with a short but talented field in Charlotte. They’ll be no easy runs at the NHRA 4-Wides this weekend.

DragChamp pick to win:

Johnny Brooks – This guy races the wheels off of his Chevy II and wins everywhere. Time for him to hit the jackpot on the big stage.
