DragChamp Top 10 List
1 – Jake Hodge
Jake Hodge jumps to the top spot this week after winning $10,000 Thursday at the Moroso 5-Day. The win comes on the heels of his big semifinal finish last week at the Great American Guaranteed Million. Jake’s six-figure score over the last week pushed him to the #1 spot this week.
2 – Jimmy “Cooter” Hidalgo
Cootah doubles up again! (in my best cajun accent, lol) A few weeks ago Hidalgo ran the table at the NHRA D2 LODRS race at Rockingham. He repeated that feat on Saturday at the D4 Cajun Classic. In both races, Hidalgo won both Stock and Super Stock!
3 – Russ Miley
Russ Miley grabs the three spot this week after an impressive performance at the King of the Coast Turkey Beach Bash. Miley drove his wheelstanding Nova to the $25,000 main event win on Saturday. He also took his second entry all the way to four cars!
4 – Jammin’ Jerry Emmons
Jammin’ Jerry Emmons waited until the last race of the season to claim the 2021 Stock Eliminator World Championship. He came into the event trailing Joe Santangelo by less than one round. Emmons would need to win the second round to overtake Santangelo and hope that Santangelo went out early. During qualifying, Emmons put his ’69 Camaro on kill trying to grab the #1 qualifying spot and the first round bye that came with it. He came up short but did grab the #2 qualifying spot which meant he’d have the bye in round two if he could win his first round match up. The drama was over fairly quickly as Emmons’ opponent went red in round one and Santangelo also turned it red. Emmons took a bye run in round two to secure the championship.
5 – 6 – Justin Endicott
Justin Endicott drove his beautiful ’56 Chevy to the Texas two step double up at Xtreme Raceway Park. Endicott won Super on Friday night and returned to the winners circle on Saturday to complete the double.
5 – 6 – Jake Howard
Texas bottom bulb terror Jake Howard also doubled up at Xtreme on Saturday. Jake won both Pro and Pro Green (two different races in the same day) to lock down a Top 10 spot this week.
7 – 8 – Cameron Kardules
Cameron Kardules borrowed his brother’s hot rod at Piedmont and drove it to a huge $20,000 payday at the Loose Rocker American Doorslammer Nationals Saturday. This was the second time he borrowed the Firebird this year and the second time he parked it on the dance floor.
7 – 8 – Mark Nettesheim
Mark Nettesheim also punched his ticket to a $20,000 payday at the American Doorslammer Nationals. Nettesheim was the Friday main event champion.
9 – 10 – Andrew Reaves
Although rain turned the Moroso 5-Day into a three day race, Andrew Reaves beat the rain to grab the first $10,000 payday of the event.
9 -10 – Skinny Kenny Underwood
In what could be the last Moroso 5-Day winner ever, the Friday winner couldn’t be more appropriate. Kenny Underwood, who’s enjoyed a great run at the event for over 30 years, captured possibly the last big check ever at the famed event.
9 -10 – Brad Clarke
Mississippi based Bad Clarke parked his hot rod on the dance floor Friday night for $10,000! Clarke outlasted the field on Friday at the King of the Coast Turkey Beach Bash.
9 -10 – David Hammons
David Hammons closed out the Turkey Beach Bash in Gulfport with a $10,000 victory on Sunday.
Nathan Youngblood won four out his last five outings in the last month. Youngblood collected four 6.00 Index wins competing at Penwell Knights Raceway and Lubbock Dragway!
Philip Jones doubled up at Wilkesboro Dragway taking wins in Modified and Street!
Steve Thurman earned a $5,000 win at the Hill last weekend. Thurman defeated Dallas Page in the final. The final was Page’s fourth $5K final at Music City this year.
