After a review of the October Jr. Racer Top 10 Lists, a group of young racers stood out above the crowd due to their amazing on-track accomplishments. We’ve ranked them and are ready to crown the Jr. Racer of the Month.

The team at DragChamp partnered with Theobald Motorsports to recognize the top performing Jr. racers each month. The Jr. Racer of the Month will earn bragging rights and a custom trophy from Travis Theobald at Theobald Motorsports.

Just to make the Jr. Racer Top 10 List is quite an accomplishment but to stand out over the course of the month is something else. Here are some of the racers we felt made the most impact during the month.

As usual it took multiple final round appearances and/or wins on a single weekend just to lead the Jr. Racer Top 10 on a weekly basis. Grace Varner, Luke Jordan, Keaton Hudson, Logan Grayson, and Jason Johnson all led the Top 10 during the month.

Grace Varner extended her win streak to six straight as she collected the Race of Champions trophy and a win at Capital City Motorsports Park in the first two weeks of October. Luke Jordan grabbed the #1 spot after his $5K victory at Holly Springs. Keaton Hudson led the list after winning the IHRA World Championship in Memphis. Logan Grayson won three times in one weekend to take his turn at the top of the list. Jason Johnson wrapped up the month in the #1 spot after winning $10,000 at the Halloween Spooktacular.

Other racers that stood out during the month included Avery Bolding who won $5,000 at Holly Springs, Mia Rybarski who doubled up at Lucas Oil Raceway, Tanner Spires who made three finals in two weeks, and Gage Wilson who won four times in one weekend!

Grace Varner turned on win lights for several weeks in a row after winning on six consecutive weekends. Varner picked up victories at Capital City Motorsports Park, SDMP, Holiday Raceway, and at Atlanta where she won the NHRA Division 2 Race of Champions. Grace also secured the SDMP track championship during her impressive six week stretch.

Luke Jordan won back-to-back races at two of the largest Jr. races of the season. Jordan won $5,000 at Holly Springs and was also doubled at 10 cars. Just two weeks later, Jordan rolled to a $1,000 7.90 Index victory at the Halloween Spooktacular at CCMP.

Keaton Hudson outlasted a talented group of over 50 of the best Jr. racers in the country to claim the IHRA Jr. Dragster World Championship in Memphis!

October Jr. Racer of the Month

That brings us to our Jr. Racer of the Month, Racin’ Jason Johnson. Jason earned major props from the DragChamp crew when he drove his 12-second Jr. to a $10,000 victory at the Halloween Spooktacular. The young racer raced his way through the 6-9 year old class and then joined the 8.90 and 7.90 class. By the end of the night, Jason outlasted over 215 entries to claim the biggest Jr. payout of the season.

Congratulations to Jason on his amazing accomplishment. For winning the DragChamp Jr. Racer of the Month award, he will receive a custom trophy courtesy of Travis Theobald at Theobald Motorsports.

How the winner is determined: The DragChamp Jr. Racer of the Month award is presented to the racer that makes the biggest impact on the Top 10 List during the month.  To be considered for the Jr. Racer of the Month title, a racer must make at least one Top 10 appearance during the month.  At the end of the month, we review the weekly Top 10 lists, and select the racer that has performed the best in our opinion.
