BTE King of the Coast Series starts strong with season opening Event #1
14 winners were crowned over three days during the BTE King of the Coast Bracket Series Event #1 presented by David McMurtry Racing Engines.
GULFPORT, MS – The BTE King of the Coast Bracket Racing Series presented by David McMurtry Racing Engines kicked off their eighteenth season over the weekend at Gulfport Dragway. Gaylon Rolison Jr. and his team continue the tradition of wealthy paydays, unforgettable competition, and plenty of fun throughout their events.
As an added to bonus to the eager and early arrivers, the first 100 racers to complete their registration were given a free t-shirt courtesy of Fine Line Signs and Graphics. In addition to thousands of dollars in prize money, extra bonuses were awarded throughout the weekend such as JEGS gift cards, Alliance Race Wear race suits, IHRA Iron Man trophies, and multiple free entries into various 2022 events.
271 entries from seven states and two countries graced the gates of Gulfport Dragway in hopes of finding their way into the profitable winner’s circle during the BTE King of the Coast Racing Series Event #1.

Friday Gamblers Race Results
Each racer that paid the test n’ tune fee were entered into a free gamblers race on Friday night.
In the Footbrake class, Robert Allen earned the win and a free entry into both the Savage Performance Footbrake 150 and Great American Dream Team Challenge while Larry Seguin’s runner up earned him a free entry into the BTE King of the Coast Event #2.
Greg Rolison claimed the win in the Electronics Gamblers Race to earn a free entry into both the Top Bulb 150 and Great American Dream Team Challenge, but Wayne Henry picked up a free entry into the BTE King of the Coast Event #2 thanks to his runner up effort.

Berry Performance 7-9 Years Old
Kylie Ortego had the reaction time advantage but runs too quick beside Charlie Rentrop who is .04 above his dial to pick up the win and IHRA Iron Man trophy.

Bone Shaker Motorsports 10-12 Years Old
Josiah Varner has an .04 reaction time advantage over Demi Stogner and runs closer to his dial to earn the win and IHRA Iron Man trophy. Bentlee Wright was the lone semifinalist.

Pearce Automotive 13-17 Years Old
Zack Pearce lays down a stellar .005 total package to earn his IHRA Iron Man and $1,200 win over Ryker Cromwell who was .028 on the tree and .006 under his dial in. Luke Tabor was the lone semifinalist.

Rick’s Powder Coating Electronics
Allen Wickell and the reigning Million Dollar Drag Race winner, Adam Russell, decided on a “split-n-quit” final on Saturday after defeating Chris White in the semifinal round.


Alliance Race Wear Footbrake
Daniel Riddle takes .005 at the finish line to earn the $4K win and IHRA Iron Man trophy over Joe Turner during Saturday’s Footbrake final round. Aaron Hill and Michael Farmer were the semifinalists.

Both drivers run .03 above their respective dial ins, but it’s Kylie Ortego’s reaction time advantage that illuminates the win light over Jillian Sandrock. Ortego will receive an Alliance Race Wear suit for her win on Sunday.


Bone Shaker Motorsports 10-12 Years Old
Josiah Varner has the advantage at the tree but takes a little too much finish line to break out 1 thou more than Kyler Morel, who earns the win and earns a new Alliance Race Wear suit. The lone semifinalist was Jace Esneault.

Pearce Automotive 13-17 Years Old
Carson Emmett lights up the dreaded red light while Claire Russell cruises to the winner’s circle on Sunday. She will also receive an Alliance Race Wear suit for her win. Zack Pearce was the lone semifinalist.


Rick’s Powder Coating Electronics
Jesse Marceaux lets go .004 on the tree and runs two above his dial to pick up the $7K win and leaves Brandon Henry mathematically ineligible. Robert Cool was the lone semifinalist.

Alliance Race Wear Footbrake
Larry Seguin stages up with Matt Nowling to see if they will repeat the run in the final or if Seguin will clinch the elusive win and runner up title on Sunday. Nowling has an .03 advantage at the tree, but goes too far above his dial while Seguin runs .019 above to end the race one round early.

KaCee Guedry has an .017 reaction time advantage but goes too far over the dial while Mike Simoneaux runs dead on with a zero to earn the Sportsman win on Sunday.

More Money in March
The BTE King of the Coast Bracket Series will return April 29-May 1, but in the meantime Rolison Motorsports Promotions will turn their focus towards big money bracket racing.
The King of the Coast Top Bulb 150 comes to Gulfport Dragway March 4-6 and features $30K to win Saturday and $15K to win Sunday. Two day pre-entry was only $400 but the incredible buy one-get one feature lets racers save even more.
The Savage Performance Footbrake 150 takes place March 18-20 also at Gulfport Dragway. Bottom bulb racers will battle for two $20K to win paydays. A weekend pre-entry will cost you $349, but this event also has the buy one-get one deal to protect your wallet.
