Cauthen Wins $5K at Darlington Race for a Championship

Cauthen, Ritchie, and Williams picked up wins at the Darlington Dragway Race for Championship Bracket Race $5K.

HARTSVILLE, SC- Darlington Dragway hosted one of their Race for Championship $5K bracket races on June 18, 2022. The event featured separate classes for Modified ET, Top ET, and Junior Dragster. VP Racing Fuels Top ET Results

In the VP Racing Fuels Top ET semi-finals, four drivers remained: R. Rayfield, F. Smith, J. Hartsell and Will Cauthen.

In the first semi-final, Rayfield and Smith took to the water box to see who would continue into the finals round. Rayfield picked up the win and was .037 and ran a 5.936 on a 5.92 dial-in over Smith’s .076 and 6.836 on a 6.87 to breakout.

Next up was Cauthen and Hartsell. Cauthen claimed the win on the double breakout and moved on the the final to face off with Rayfield.

In the final, Cauthen claimed the win over Rayfield. Cauthen was .048 and ran dead-on six and Rayfield broke out running a 5.907 on a 5.91 and was .042 up front.

Pee Dee Fleet Modified ET Results

Just three competitors remained in the semi-final round of Pee Dee Fleet Modified ET. Jacob Ritchie sat on the bye to final while W. Jenkins and J.Foley had to square off to decide who would continue on to the final round.

Jenkins was an unfortunate -.024 red which let Foley coast down the track to prepare for the final round up against Ritchie.

In the final, Foley was -.023 red giving the automatic win to Ritchie.

Huddelston Performance Jr. Dragster Results

In the semi-finals, Budd Trammell II, McCalliste, Skylar Peedin, and Rylan Williams all remained in competition. Peedin and Trammell II took to the water box first to see who would continue on to the final round. Trammell II unfortunately left -.017 red giving the automatic win to Peedin. In the second semi-final, Williams took on McCalliste. Williams was .023 and ran a 7.972 on a 7.93 dial-in to capture the win over McCalliste’s .039 7.932 on a 7.90.

In the final round, Peedin was -.039 red giving the automatic win to Williams.
