Champions Crowned at Capital City FTI Bracket Series Finale

Seventeen racers earned wins at the Capital City Motorsports Park FTI Bracket Series Finale.

MONTGOMERY, AL- Capital Motorsports Park held their FTI Capital City Bracket Series Finale September 17-18, 2022. The event featured 2 days of guaranteed money racing and included Super Pro, Footbrake, and Junior Dragster classes. There was also a FREE Footbrake Friday, Million Dollar Entry Shootout and the Glynn Smith Appreciation Shootouts. In addition, the 2022 Capital City Motorsports Park Track Champions were also crowned!

Footbrake Friday

In the Friday FREE Footbrake race, Father & Son, Brooks and B.L. Stevens met in the final and decided to split and quit.

Saturday Results

Super Pro

Taylor Blackburn claimed the first $7,500 Super Pro win of the weekend over Chad Cauthen.

Footbrake

Ricky Pennington drove to victory in Saturday’s $1,500 Footbrake class. Chris Cox was the runner-up finisher.

6-9 Year Old Junior Dragster

Hunter Brown picked up the 6-9 Junior Dragster win over Racin’ Jason Johnson on Saturday.

10-12 Year Old Junior Dragster

In Saturday’s 10-12 Junior Dragster class, Lexie Goddard earned the final round win over Sam Willis.

13 & Up Junior Dragster

Blake Combs claimed his first win of the weekend in Saturday’s 13 & Up Junior Dragster class. Jonathan Mackey was the runner-up.

Sunday Results

Super Pro

Nathan Ramer captured the $7,500 Sunday Super Pro win over Steve Cole. Ramer was also the Sunday 13 & Up Junior Dragster runner-up.

Footbrake

Dean Staples picked up the Sunday $1,500 Footbrake win over Wesley Cox.

6-9 Year Old Junior Dragster

Racin’ Jason Johnson drove to victory in Sunday’s 6-9 Junior Dragster class. The runner-up was car 213X.

10-12 Year Old Junior Dragster

Reese Noah claimed the Sunday 10-12 Junior Dragster win over Lexie Goddard.

13 & Up Junior Dragster

In Sunday’s 13 & Up class, Blake Combs picked up his second win of the weekend over Nathan Ramer. Ramer also won Super Pro on Sunday!

Glynn Smith Appreciation Race Shootout

The Glynn Smith Appreciation Race Shootout was for racers who attended every 2022 FTI Capital City Bracket Series Race of the season.

Super Pro $5K

Glynn Smith earned the $5K Super Pro Shootout win.

Footbrake $3k

Mark Broderick picked up the Footbrake $3K Shootout win.

13 & Up Junior Dragster $1K

Carson Emmett claimed the 13 & Up $1,000-to-win Junior Dragster shootout win.

10-12 Junior Dragster $1K

Clay Ellison captured the 10-12 Junior Dragster $1,000-to-win shootout win.

6-9 Junior Dragster $500-to-win

In the 6-9 Junior Dragster $500-to-win shootout, Anna Molly Evans earned the final round win.

Million Entry Shootout

Benny Langford picked up the Million Entry Shootout win.
