Donovan Williams Tears Through Capital City Classic

Donovan Williams took down Chad Spradlin for $100,000 at the Capital City Classic at Capital City Motorsports Park.

MONTGOMERY, AL – Donovan Williams tore through Capital City Motorsports Park and had one of the most memorable weekends he has ever had in his racing career. Williams took home the Thursday night Shootout win, the $100,000 win, and a quarter-final finish in Sunday’s $50,000 race.

Capital City Motorsports Park swung open the gates this weekend for their first annual Capital City Classic, giving racers a chance at some big paydays. Thursday’s 64-car shootout gave the winner a weekend entry into the OG Million while the runner-up received a weekend entry into the Capital City Classic along with an entry into the OG Million.

The rest of the weekend consisted of a 50-100-50 set up where several racers visited the winners circle for some big checks and trophies.

2022 Capital City Classic

Thursday

Donovan Williams drove his BIG BLOCKS sponsored dragster to his first final round of the weekend and defeated Josh Mackey to take home the big check and the trophy. Williams received a free ride into the OG Million weekend, while Mackey received another entry into the Capital City Classic along with an OG Million entry.

Friday

Will Holloman drove the Bear Motorsports dragster to the winners circle after defeating Kevin Brannon in the $50,000 final round.

Mikey Bloomfield Jr. was the semi-finalist.

Saturday

Donovan Williams shook the world once again and found the winners circle for the second time of the weekend. Williams defeated Chad Spradlin in the $100,000 final round to continue his weekend celebration.

Trampus Stewart was the semi-finalist.

Sunday

JR Barclay took home the last win of the weekend after defeating Thomas Holley in the $50,000 final round.

Jeremy Bargo was the semi-finalist.

Megan Bohannon is a 25 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine.
