Gulitti + Brannon Win Big at St. Patrick’s Doorslammer Pot O’Gold

Gulitti doubles up $10K wins, and Brannon wins $20K at the Loose Rocker St. Patrick’s Doorslammer Pot O’Gold at Piedmont Dragway.

JULIAN, NC- Loose Rocker held their St. Patrick’s Doorslammer Pot O’Gold March 24-27, 2022 at Piedmont Dragway. The door car and left-steer roadster only event featured two $10Ks on Friday & Sunday, a $20K on Saturday and a $4K Legendary 64 Shootout on Thursday. Thursday Legendary 64 Shootout

Perry Reynolds kicked off the Inaugural Doorslammer Pot O’ Gold presented by Summit Racing Equipment with the $4K shootout win from his ticket-printing 4.9-sec Dodge Avenger. Jonathon McCandless turned it one thou red in the finals in the World Infamous Volare station wagon.

Friday $10K

Cory Gulitti expertly wheeled the McCarty Auto Parts family S-10 to the first main event win of the weekend at the Doorslammer Pot O’ Gold presented by Summit Racing Equipment. Gulitti held off the always tough Dustin Smiley in the finals. Amanda Manuel, who carried two entries deep into the race, and Bobby Love were the semifinalists.

Saturday $20K

Kevin Brannon has added a Doorslammer Pot O’ Gold presented by Summit Racing Equipment $20K Eagle Trophy to his Loose Rocker resume (which is just a tiny part of a rather storied career!) to go along with his St. Patrick’s Classic $10K win in his dragster years ago. Brannon won a barn burner over first time Loose Rocker finalist, John Engleman, by just .005. Laura Bailey and Chris McGuire were the semifinalists.

Sunday $10K

Cory Gulitti bookended an incredible all-star show at the Doorslammer Pot O’ Gold presented by Summit Racing Equipment by earning twin 10K Eagle Trophies. The 10K Warmup race was his first win in a doorcar, but it only took him a day to add number two, with the 10K Finale victory. Gulitti stopped Randy Biddle, Jr. in the finals, who footbraked his way there! 20K winner Kevin Brannon was the lone semifinalist in the 10K Finale.
