Racers Cash in at Darlington Race for a Championship

Dewitt, Lockhart, and Carroll captured wins at the Darlington Dragway Race for a Championship on June 4th, 2022.

HARTSVILLE, SC- After battling some unfortunate weeks of rain, Darlington Dragway was finally able to hold one of their Race for a Championship $5K events on June 4, 2022. The race includes separate classes for Modified ET, Top ET, and Junior Dragster drivers. See results below!

VP Racing Fuels Top ET Results

In the Top ET semi-finals, Jason Dewitt sat on the bye to the finals and Joe Hartsell & Josh Duggins squared up to see who would go to the final round. Hartsell was .011 and ran dead-on four to punch his ticket to the final. Duggins was .006 and ran two-above his dial-in to end his day.

In the final, Dewitt was .000 perfect and ran under his dial-in but still claimed the win because Hartsell left -.014 red.

Pee Dee Fleet Modified ET Results

In the Mod ET semi-finals, Scott Aloffo secured the bye run to the finals and left James Lockhart & Jerry Cline to duke it out to see who would continue on to face Aloffo in the finals. Lockhart was .040 and ran a 7.789 on a 7.76 dial-in to pick up the win over Cline who was .089 and ran a 5.890 on 5.83.

In the final, Lockhart was .005 and ran dead-on four to edge out Aloffo’s .029 and one-above.

Huddelston Performance Jr. Dragster Results

In the semi-finals, Asher Carroll, David Tedder, Skylar Peedin, and Dylan White all remained in competition. Peedin and Tedder took to the water box first to see who would continue on to the final round. Tedder unfortunately left -.010 red giving the automatic win to Peedin. In the second semi-final, Carroll took on White. Carroll was .039 and ran a 8.141 on a 8.11 dial-in to capture the win over White’s .084 7.896 on a 7.90 breakout.

In the final round, Carroll was .065 and ran a 8.175 on a 8.14 to pick up the win over Peedin’s breakout.
