Whitworth & Moore Win $10K at 2nd Annual Pumpkin Nationals

Whitworth, Moore, Degnitz, and Rybarski claimed wins at the US 41 Dragstrip 2nd Annual Pumpkin Nationals.

MOROCCO, IN- The 2nd Annual Pumpkin Nationals were held September 30- October 1, 2022 at the US 41 Dragstrip. The event featured three-days of racing and included a Friday Sick Willy Racing $4,100-to-win FREE Gambler’s Race, twin $10Ks, and $500-to-win Junior Dragster classes. In addition, No-Box racers ran separate until one winner remained and they earned $1000 and joined Box at the next round. There were over 285+ entries each day and over 1,500 total laps were made down the track in just three days.

The Friday Sick Willy Racing $4,100-to-win FREE Gambler’s Race ended up having to split at 10 cars due to dew on the racing surface.

Saturday $10K Box

In Saturday’s $10K, Ricky Pena claimed the $1000 No-Box win and went on to join Brian Whitworth, Sam Smith, and Rick Susak in the semi-finals of the $10K Main Event.

Ricky Pena captured the win over Rick Susak and Brian Whitworth earned the win over Sam Smith in the semi-final round.

In the finals, Brian Whitworth drove to victory over Ricky Pena and collected his $10K payday.

Saturday Junior Dragster

Brody Degnitz picked up the $500 Junior Dragster Saturday victory over his sister, Kylee Degnitz.

Sunday $10K

In Sunday’s $10K, Adam Needles captured the $1000 No-Box win and joined Joey Moore, Michael Churley, and Tori Trench in the semis of the $10K Main Event.

Joey Moore earned the win over Adam Needles and Michael Churley claimed the win over Tori Trench in the semi-finals.

In the final round, Joey Moore picked up the $10K win over Michael Churley.

Sunday Junior Dragster

In Sunday’s $500-to-win Junior Dragster class, Mia Rybarski claimed the final round win over Ricky Pena Jr.
