Camron Nelson wins the 2021 DragChamp 13-15 Jr. Racer of the Year title after winning 13 times in 17 final round appearances

2021 DragChamp 13-15 Jr. Racer Top 10 List

1 – Camron Nelson

Camron Nelson wins the 13-15 Year Old Racer of the Year title presented by Laris Motorsports Insurance. Camron won 13 races in 17 finals on the season. He also won the Houston Raceway Park Jr. Advanced track championship, HRP Jr. Street championship, and the SouthWest Jr Dragster Series Quick 16 championship. Camron also finished in the Top 3 in three other classes in the SWJDS. Nelson also traveled from his home state of Texas and performed well on the road picking up a win and runner up at the D7 Tucson race, a Gamblers win a the WCF, and a Gamblers win at the NHRA D4 Jr ET Finals. He was the DragChamp Racer of the Month earlier this year and made frequent Top 10 List appearances throughout the season.

2 – Grace Varner

Grace Varner earns the #2 spot after winning an amazing 13 times in 14 finals during the 2021 season. Grace also won the SDMP track championship and the NHRA Division 2 Race Of Champions.

3 – Summer Field

Summer Field made 30 finals between her Jr. dragster and her Jr. Street Mopar. Field, who made several Top 10 List in 2021, won 15 of those finals. She also won the Walla Walla track championship and the Division 6 Land of Leaders Champion.

4 – Gage Wilson

Gage Wilson won 12 races this year against some tough competition earning him the number 4 spot. His highlights include 14 year old ECF champion, WCF Fun Race winner, and track championships in Jr. Dragster and Jr. Street.

5 – Gavin Whisnant

Gavin Whisnant made an impresive 20 finals this year winning 11 of them. He also finished 2nd in points at Farmington Dragway and 3rd at Piedmont.

6 – Bode Bennett

Bode Bennett takes the number 6 spot after making 14 finals winning 10 of them. Bennett won Abilene track championship, the Race Of Champions at the NHRA Division 4 bracket finals, and he had a runner up finish at the Division 7 bracket finals.

7 – Logan Grayson

Logan Grayson enjoyed tons of success in 2021 including winning 9 times in 11 finals. Grayson also won some big races like the Garrett Shankle Memorial $5K race and won three $1K races throughout the year. He also earned a DragChamp Racer of the Month award and lead the list on multiple occasions.

8 – Jonathan McClain

Jonathan McClain made 14 finals on the season where he posted 8 wins. Highlights included a MidWest Drag Racing Series Pro Jr. championship and a Tulsa track championship.

9 – PJ Marston

PJ Marston won 9 out of his 11 finals and took home the Empire Dragway track championship and the Lancaster track championship.

10 – Cole Foster

Killer Cole Foster rounds off the 13-15 Jr. Racer of the Year list after winning six times in seven finals. This was Cole’s first year in 7.90 and he showed out winning the WCF 13 year old championship and multiple SouthWest Jr. Dragster Series races. In total Cole won four $1,000+ events on the year and finished in the Top 5 in four different classes in the SWJDS.
