DragChamp Top Bulb Racer of the Year Top 10 List
1 – Jeff Serra

Jeff Serra easily posted one of the best seasons in bracket racing history. When you add in his victory at the 2020 Guaranteed Million, he may have had the most profitable 14 months in bracket racing history. After finishing 2020 on a high note, Serra destroyed 2021 collecting wins at will. His major accomplishments on the season included a $175,000 SFG win, running himself in the $100,000 Summer Fling final, a $75,000 victory at VMP, a $40,000 victory at the GABR Million, two $25,000 victories, a $20,000 win, and two $40K runner-ups. With that said, Jeff Serra is your 2021 Top Bulb Racer of the Year.
2 – Champ McCrory

Champ grabs the two spot after putting on a clinic in the back half of the season driving Mitch Clary’s dragster. McCrory raced to victories at two SFG races taking home $100,000 and $50,000 big checks along the way. At the Mickey Thompson Million at SGMP, Champ drove to a semifinal finish to capture another big payday. He added to his dream season when he made the Great American Guaranteed Million final where he just missed the million dollar score. Although he came up just short in both million’s, Champ brought home a butt load of cash!
3 – Kyle Cultrera

Kyle Cultrera put together an impressive season that saw him win a $100,000 at the Fall Fling. He added a runner-up at the Loose Rocker St. Patty’s $300K and ran himself in a $40,000 final at Norwalk. He padded his stats with a Shootout runner-up at an SFG race and won a ten grander as well. In addition to his final round appearances, Cultrera was a consistent fixture in the late rounds at the biggest races of the season.
4 – Tyler Bohannon

When you win the largest paying race of the season, you make the Top 10 List! And Tyler Bohannon did just that when he turned on the final win light at the Great American Guaranteed Million in Montgomery. Tyler finished the season strong with a $20,000 victory at the New Year’s Nationals in Florida. His other final round appearances on the season included a Gamblers final round at Montgomery and a win and runner-up at the Ultimate 64 race earlier in the season.
5 – Will Holloman

Will Holloman continues to find success year after year and 2021 was no different. Holloman won a $50 grander at the OG Million, won at least three $10,000 races during the season, and added a $20,000 runner-up at the Jim Harrington race. In addition to making deep runs at big money races around the country, Will made the split at the Guaranteed Million and at the Loose Rocker St. Patty’s $300,000 race.
6 – Garrett Griffith

Garrett Griffith enjoyed a season to remember in 2021 after collecting several large race wins. On the season Garrett won four $10,000 races, a $25 grander, a $15 grander, and runnered-up two $5K races. Look for this young man to be in many more big money finals in the years to come.
7 (tie) – Gage Burch

Gage Burch was the only racer to make more than one of our year end Top 10 Lists. Along with his huge season in Bottom Bulb, Burch also made lots of noise in Top Bulb too. Along with multiple $10K victories off the Top, Gage won $25,000 at the SFG race in Iowa, made two $50,000 finals, and posted several semifinal finishes at big money races including two $50 granders and a $40 grand race.
7 (tie) – Kris Whitfield

Kris Whitfield enjoyed massive success at the Fling events during the 2021 racing season. He made three Fling finals on the season including the Spring Fling Million main event, a $15K at Bristol, and a $100K main event at the Fall Fling.
8 – Bryson Scruggs

Bryson Scruggs quietly put together a strong season where he won three big races in four finals. At the Derby City 100K, Scruggs won a $25,000 race and runnered-up another on the same day! He added a $20,000 victory at the GABR Red, White, & Blue race and also picked up a $10 grand victory at Bowling Green.
9 – Johnny Ezell

JBR secured a Top 10 finish after making a number of big money finals. Ezell won a $50,000 SFG race, $10,000 at Gulfport, and added runner-up finishes in a $50K and a $20K. As normal, even when he didn’t win, you would find him hanging around deep into eliminations.
10 (tie) – Mike Barber

Mike Barber won a couple of big races in 2020 and continued that streak in 2021. Barber won $50 grand at the Jim Harrington Bracket Nationals where he ran himself in the semifinals. He added $20K and $10K victories along with numerous deep runs at big money events including two $40K races and two $20K races.
10 (tie) – Cory Gulitti

Cory Gulitti closes out the Top Bulb Top 10 List. Gulitti grabbed the ten spot on the strength of his $50,000 victory in Carolina (where he had two entries at three cars) and his Dragster Shootout victory at the Spring Fling. Cory added a $30K runner-up and semifinal finishes in a $50K at the OG Million and a $40 grander earlier in the season.
