Brendan Nuttall is the DragChamp April Jr. Racer of the Month after racing to five consecutive final rounds during the month
APRIL 2022 – It’s time to announce our first Jr. Racer of the Month for the 2022 racing season. Thanks to the support of great companies like Laris Motorsports Insurance, Travis Theobald at Theobald Motorsports, and Wild Willy Fuel Fragrance we’re able to provide increased recognition for the top Jr. racers in the country.
After an in-depth review of the Laris Motorsports Insurance Jr. Racer Top 10 Lists from April, we selected the top performers for the month. The Jr. Racer of the Month gets bragging rights and a sample package from Wild Willy Fuel Fragrance.

Before we get into the finalist and the actual Jr. Racer of the Month winner, let’s look back at some standout performances from April.
As usual, the Jr. Racer Top 10 List highlighted a number of great performances during the month. Notables included racers such as Maddi Gordon who doubled up in Tucson and Brayden Todd who raced to four finals during the month. Douglas Hughes grabbed a $2,500 victory at the Texas Two Step and followed with another win the following weekend.
2021 6-9 Year old Racer of the Year Victoria Beaner continues to impress in her first season of 8.90. She made multiple finals in April including a stretch of three straight wins. Graeme Rufenacht is always in the mix and last month was no exception when he raced to three finals in two weeks.
Other notables included Kane Kern who doubled up at State Capitol Raceway and added a runner-up at the Houston Raceway championship shootout at the NHRA SpringNationals. Speaking of the SpringNationals, Slate Hrabina raced to the HRP 8.90 track championship shootout victory and then won the runoff against the 7.90 class winner to earn a spot in the Race of Champions later this season.
Braden Bowden made some noise after doubling up at Indy and Curtis Peek jumped on the Top 10 after winning four straight races. Katelyn Page doubled up at the Roxboro Motorsports Park Easter Bash to secure a Top 10 showing. Revin Mosely led the Top 10 after doubling up at the Southwest Jr. Dragster Series race at I-30 Dragway.
#5 – McKenzee Hogan raced to the top spot on the Top 10 List after making three final round appearances in one weekend at GALOT. Hogan won on Friday and Saturday and lost in the finals on Sunday.
#4 – Luka Markham made five final round appearances in April and also led the Top 10 one week. The highlight of the month included a double up at Beech Bend.
#3 – Will Willard found his way to six final rounds during the month. His outstanding performances were rewarded with a couple of Top 10 List appearances during the month.
#2 – Jordan Denny made several Top 10 appearances last month including leading the list after doubling up one weekend. Denny made five final round appearances to secure the #2 spot for the month.
April Jr. Racer of the Month
#1 – Brendan Nuttall made five straight final rounds during the month which secured the Jr. Racer of the Month title for April. Nuttall made the list almost every week during the month as he parked his Jr. on the dance floor week after week. During his final round streak, Nuttall won on three occasions which solidified the title.

How the winner is determined: The DragChamp Jr. Racer of the Month award is presented to the racer that makes the biggest impact on the Jr. Racer Top 10 List during the month. To be considered for the Jr. Racer of the Month title, a racer must make at least one Top 10 appearance during the month. At the end of the month, we review the weekly Top 10 lists and select the racer that made the most significant impact on the list. The winner will receive a sample pack of fuel fragrances from Wild Willy Fuel Fragrance.
