DragChamp Top 10 List

1 – Cooter Hidalgo

Cooter Hidalgo grabs the #1 spot on the Top 10 List this week after making three finals and winning twice at World Wide Technology Raceway. Hidalgo’s run started last week when he won the Midwest Nationals in his Stocker. Fast forward seven days and Cooter found himself in two finals on Sunday afternoon at the LODRS doubleheader. He parked his GTO Stocker in the winners circle for the 2nd straight weekend and then came up short in the Super Stock final to just miss the trifecta!

2 – James DiCiacco

James DiCiacco dominated the Mutt & Jeff Fall Brawl at US13 Dragway. DiCiacco won $12,500 on Friday night and also won the $20 grand main event on Saturday! He also made it to the sixth round on Sunday before finally dropping out.

3 – Will Holloman

DragChamp Pro member Will Holloman continued his big money tear by doubling up at the VMP Triple Threat Series. Willywood picked up the $20K victory on Saturday and added a $10K victory on Sunday to close out another successful weekend of racing.

4 – Phil Smida

Phil Smida outlasted a huge Super Street field at the St. Louis double divisional to sweep the class. Smida raced to wins on Saturday and Sunday to earn two Wally’s!

5 – Darian Boesch

Former World Champ Darian Boesch continues to shine in the NHRA fast bracket classes. Boesch pulled off the double in St. Louis after racing to the Top Dragster win at the Midwest Nationals last weekend and following it up with a Top Sportsman victory on Saturday at the LODRS race.

6 – Bob Locke

Bob Locke also enjoyed a successful two weeks at St. Louis. Locke drove his Super Gas Corvette to a semifinal finish at the national event last week and then made back-to-back finals at the LODRS doubleheader. Bob split the finals earning a win and a runner-up over the weekend which moved him into 2nd place in the national standings.

7 – Jason Leon

The electric cars continue to make a splash on the Top 10 List. This week Jason Leon carries the flag after a dominating weekend at Renegade Raceway. Leon drove his SUV to wins in No-Box and Box on Saturday and then added another No-Box victory on Sunday. The two No-Box wins helped secure the track championship. And by the way, Leon almost won 4 times on the weekend but fell just short after losing in the semifinals of Box on Sunday.

8 – Stevie Dustin

Stevie Dustin enjoyed a great weekend at VMP which saw him make two $10K finals along with capturing the season points championship. After starting the weekend 23rd in points, Dustin made up some ground when he collected the $10K victory on Friday. By Sunday, he was still in the title hunt but needed to make the final round to seal the deal. Stevie made his way through eliminations and ultimately reached the final round. While he clinched the season championship, he fell one win light short of the double up after losing to Will Holloman in the Sunday final.

9 – Russell Archer

A couple of his most recent victories include a Gamblers victory at the Bracket Finals at Maple Grove and a $10K victory at the Coastal Clash.
